Storefront questions

How does one make it out of amateur status for Storefront descriptions.
I have 82 designs shared with 1,381 downloads with quite a few at 5 stars.
I have 45 tunes shared with 666 downloads and quite a few of those are 5 stars.
I have 25 Vinyls shares with 347 downloads and also quite a few 5 stars in those.
I have a guy in my club with less tunes and less downloads and he is already a Semi-pro tuner.
Is it just getting one thing to download many many time?
Here are some examples. Blue carbon design for the Dart with 80 Downloads, 93 Uses and 6 Likes
Red carbon design for the Dart with 274 Downloads, 179 Uses and 10 Likes

Is it just Likes or is it just more downloads for one item? I don’t understand the system.

I don’t think anyone on the forums knows exactly.

Look at a few tuners / painters storefronts and check their download stats.

I did that with tuners and from memory there seemed to be a pattern suggesting upgraded status at approx. the following downloads:

1000
2500
5000
10000

Someone proved it is not that simple but the patterns are definitely close to this.

Eduardo … see my post below yours for some of the levels. The ratings are based on combined downloads, likes and uses for an individual tune/paint and all combined downloads/likes and uses of all shared work for painter or tuner status.

(You must have posted while I was typing my post … lol.)

The rating system for both individual tunes/paints as well as your overall status as a tuner/painter is based on combined totals of downloads, likes and uses. I don’t know what the levels are for tuning (I don’t tune) … but would assume that they’re probably the same as for painting.

For individual paints (and I assume tunes), here are the levels:
1 star - Initial sharing of a design/vinyl with no downloads
2 stars - Earned after first download
3 stars - 25 combined downloads/likes/uses
4 stars - 50 combined downloads/likes/uses
5 stars - 100 combined downloads/likes/uses

For your overall status as a tuner/painter, I don’t know what the exact levels are in between until you get to Legend Tuner/Painter. I assume you get Freelance (1 star) after sharing your first tune or paint. Legend Tuner or Painter is a combined 50,000 downloads, likes and uses of all shared tunes or paints (this one I’m sure of). The Amateur, Pro and Elite levels fall somewhere in between 1 and 50,000 … I believe a lot of people have mentioned that Amateur may be a few hundred and Pro may be several thousand. I would assume Elite is probably around 25,000.

scrapped think I understand what you are saying

I am very confident that it’s 50K. Keep in mind that it is ALL combined downloads, likes and uses. I tracked my status and the status of all my shared work for a few weeks and monitored when it changed. One day I was at just under 50K combined and still Elite status … the next morning I was barely over 50K combined and had changed to Legend status.

But does all this mean for one tune/design or combined, your bottom explanation, not the star ratings?
Semi-Pro falls under 2 star rating and I don’t understand why I haven’t gotten it yet. I am still at Amateur for both Tune and Paint and my paints have over 1000k downloads and the guy I was referring too earlier only has 887 and is already 2 star Semi-pro.

I think Wildcat is saying its the total of downloads, uses and likes.

So if someone downloads it but does not use it then it counts as 1.

If someone downloads it and uses it 10 times and likes it then it counts as 12.

This is correct. Many of my designs have a lot more uses than actual downloads. Each person’s Storefront only shows downloads … which is only part of the story. So you can’t really go by just looking at others’ Storefronts to judge … because you don’t see their uses and likes. You can only see those for your own work. So when people are estimating that Legend status may be 10,000 downloads … they’re not recognizing that there are likely 40,000 combined likes and uses that they can’t see in the Storefront.

So from the sounds of it, I just need time for people to keep using my designs/tunes and let the rating go up.

Yep … it all adds up eventually. More designs shared, more downloads, more uses, etc.

I hit semi-pro at around 800 tune downloads, but with way more uses than downloads. I’d say you’re more than halfway, and probably a lot more than halfway.

I have over 200 downloads of paints and am still at 0 stars.

that’s strange- I think you get one star as soon as you have one download. It could be just not showing properly (I get that a lot with individual groups and designs sometimes)
