I understand that some aspects of the game are set in stone well before they’re actually revealed, and the beginning of the player’s career is definitely one of them. Treat this as more of an ‘idea sharing’ post.
In old Forza games, the player had a limited budget for their starter car, and selecting a different car meant either room for upgrades or having to drive a stock car for a while. Since Motorsport 4, the starter car is always free, and often comes with upgrades preinstalled. Horizon 6 is likely to follow suit with the latter, but what if it went even deeper with the economy aspect?
One day I read a comment regarding Horizon 6’s potential early game, that “it would be great if we had a rented car at the beginning and could then buy our own car with the money earned”, and I honestly think that’s an amazing idea. The last few Forza games let the player select a relatively expensive car for their first choice, and it bothers me to some extent.
Horizon 6 should let the player rent a car when they begin their racing journey, or start with a very limited budget and a lower class. The rented car cannot be upgraded and it has no Car Mastery, but it can then be bought back by the player if they earn enough money in their first races. Alternatively, the rented car would go back to Horizon rentals or whatever and the player gets to purchase their own car with a higher budget.
The original test drive unlimited did exactly this. You dont have enough money to buy a car but you have enough money to go to a rental place and rent a supercar, take it for a spin ans do a few races and get the money to get your first car. Obviously it doesnt have to be a super car that you rent but the idea is cool and not seen in a lot of games
