Spring season #Forzathon Shop, events and rewards through March 14

MC12 FE, wont see the nothing good complaint this week!

This car is useless to me. But it’s nice to have another Ken Block’s toy to play with. I hope they will add the Ferrari Superfast and the 2019 911 GT3 RS soon as I don’t have them yet and nobody’s selling them in aution house.

I already have it, so I’m sitting on my points again this week I guess. Last week was one of the first in months where I failed to finish the weekly Forzathon challenge, and sad to say it looks like this will be the second. Until they sell a new exclusive or the Superfast (or add either/both to wheelspins), I’ve got no reason to spend my points or amass more, since that will apparently just drive up the prices in the shop.

On another note, Playgound: When you select user-created tracks for everyone’s enjoyment, maybe don’t pick a track that seems tailor-made to expose the hilariously absurd amount of power-boosting you give the CPU opponents. Watching the top 3-4 cars blow past me on every straightaway no matter which car I’m driving was nearly enough to send me back to the other games I’ve been playing instead of this one lately. I was on my fifth car–all tuned and competitive in online and offline events–when I finally gave in and dropped the difficulty to Expert, and they were still walking away on every decently long straight; their handicapped cornering ability is the only reason I was able to catch up to first place. It probably doesn’t help that a two-race championship means you’re all but required to win both in order to take the championship.

Okay, rant over. For those of you who won the second community race on Unbeatable difficulty (I know you’re out there), I salute you and ask, what car did you use to keep up with the AI? I don’t have any purpose-built speed machines and didn’t really want to spend the time and credits to build and tune one just for this race. Is that what you had to do, or were you able to make a more versatile setup work?

I used a stock 2013 Mazda MX5, the only thing I changed was lowering the tire pressure a bit but I do this to every car I drive anyway. The key to keeping up with the AI on the long straights IMO is drafting. Also you want to move up to at least 5th place before the first long straight. I do drive without any assist except for braking line only though, since TCS and STM slow you down and ABS make the braking distance longer. I also use simulated steering, cars feel more responsive this way.

Ahhh, I fell for the trap of only using the top of the maximum class to race (S1900)! I should’ve thought to dial back the car. Good call, thanks for the tip!

(I race with all assists off, but I found I have too much difficulty recovering a slide with simulation steering–my thumb naturally twitches the stick too hard and starts an uncontrollable fishtail back and forth.)

Glad to see the Prelude finally and even the cars up for offer in the Forzathon shop are decent.

The community tracks are pretty much up to “community par” every week, not sure what some of you expect.

The Main Map and Fortune Island official tracks, I don’t know how many times I’ve had to rewind or restart, mostly because I overshot something (going too fast) or simply missed a checkpoint (not paying attention). Unlike some on here who can’t admit those facts, I admit I didn’t pay closer attention while racing. The best part is, once you learn, you don’t make the same mistake twice. It’s not that hard.

If I faced this with official tracks, you think unofficial “community tracks” should be put on the same level? This game has full/brake lines, checkpoints, track maps, on screen GPS/Map…plenty of assists to learn…

Is there any reason the community championships are only 2 races now? 2 races doesn’t make for much of a ‘championship’. I thought they used to be 3 races like the regular championships?

Probably going by the 2 winners = 2 races? I am assuming next season, they will start using tracks that didn’t win the competitions (only 2 routecomps so far) for the community championships, which I think is a good idea.

I didn’t even realize there had only been 2 routecomps so far. I wonder why that is, it definitely explains things though. I figure’d they’d be weekly or at least close to it like the other comps.

Just found out the annoying way (cheating uncatchable drivatar in 1st) that if you tie one of the two-race championships, you thankfully still get credit for winning.

Really should have been 3 races though (and the Le Mans UK has the exact same problem of Le Mans in FM7 where it highlights exactly how the drivatars cheat on the straights with their HP bonuses).

Well, I have official word that there is no intention to be any more routecomps.

For starters, there for all intents and purposes was only one routecomp… Well, 1.4. Majority of the second routecomp winners were not even entered in the contest. “Felt that available entries did not fit what they were looking for” Plus technical difficulties kept them from even looking at all the tracks. The tracks were instead decided on what would work best if streamed. So don’t worry. They werent for us to race, but for streamers to show off.

Which is why I get so salty about it.

Cow patties!

Many of us put a considerable investment into our routes and it isn’t a small number, just no real medium or constructive way to share. More effort is into promoting H4 youtuber’s Ninja Training than solid races that the whole playerbase could benefit from.

So like I do for every negative comment, want some enjoyable community racing? Then check my sig page in the forums here. If there are any other route creators, do the same. Make a central location so others can find and share your races and maybe get at least a tiny bit of interest in the routes. Sarcastic comment: All the ones in my page were my routecomp submissions, but apparently they must have been worse than the winners. Serious comment: I spend considerable time testing and planning my routes to ensure they are a solid play experience and get feedback from others. Some do need fixes, but for now I am just trying to keep a supply of quality routes visible.

Community Championships should be a seasonal highlight with brand new fresh races right front and center, not something to create the comments they have been.

Edit: Broseff’s Mountain Circuit though (first race) Was a pretty good one. Nice, clean but technical enough to make it tense and needing a balanced build.

Well that’s a real shame. I feel as if the route creator isn’t really being taken fully advantage of. Hopefully there are some new plans for it in the future…

I completed both of the races on the first go on Pro. I won the first race and finished a close 2nd in the Le Mans race. Its not hard to keep up with the AI, you just have to brake really hard on some of the turns. I tune my cars without added aero so maybe thats why I could keep up. I used the 2019 911 while the other top 5 AI were in Audi TTS’s.

As far as the Isetta challenge. Those little cars are fun but it’s extremely prone to rollovers. I left mine in D class and any sudden turns it’s flipping

Any tips on winning the second community race? I can’t for the life of me get to the 1st driver and almost 6 others pass me on the long straights and I can’t keep up until the corners. I use a 19 911 with as many mods to get to the 900 limit and it seems like every other Audi and even, what I think it was, an S2000? passed me like nothing  is there a better car to use?

I used a '09 S2000, it was not hard at all. I have a tune for it, just type in my name in the search box.

The best tip honestly is to use slower cars within the restrictions, the ai are much easier to beat in slower cars especially if you use manual with clutch (you accelerate faster than them). S1 is extremely fast and I beat it on unbeatable difficulty in a class C Tamo Racemo.

I’m sure I could have done it on S1, but honestly I just wanted the car lol. I’ll save the hardcore driving for Motorsport.

Re: Seasonal Championship Community Route | Mountain Circuit | PI<900 Modern Sports Cars
Reward: Honda Prelude '94 (newly added Exclusive model)

I tried using a stock TAMO Racemo (C class) but finished 2nd in the first race.

The winning car which I couldn’t keep up with was a Subaru BRZ so for the second race I used a Subaru BRZ with a B700 tune called Seasonal Winner by Pappa Joe 23112.

I thought it was a lost cause but surprisingly I won the second race and the championship by quite a big margin.

Many thanks.

Try a stock car. I almost always use stock for these things without much issue and the AI seems easier.
