Why have they removed the spectator mode in multiplayer?

Is there any way to watch a ongoing race when i join the lobby when the race have already started? Spectator mode?
Its annoying… Why have they cut it out??
Also get rid of the friction assist in Multiplayer!! My friends and i skipping the game until the friction assist is gone

Can someone educate me on how you can spectate a race? I was playing with a few friends online, and found that while I was waiting for them to finish a race (I had joined just after they had started), there was no way that I could find to actually watch the race that was going on. In addition to that, once everyone was back in the lobby preparing for the next race, there was no way (that I could find) to set it so that I could / would spectate the upcoming race.

im sure this will come back… they will need it for future forza RC events. prob on nov7th when the next update comes on launch day of the xbox one X
Will be patched soon…the E sport ambitions and sponsored events rely on spectator mode.
It’s really odd that you say that because they advertised the game with:
“Ultimate esport
With new leagues, enhanced spectating modes, Mixer integration and premier partners like Porsche, Forza 7 is the ultimate racing esport for players and viewers alike.”
Maybe I’m missing something, but to me “enhanced” usually means better than it was in a previous version. That said, in 6, you could spectate races. Is removing the ability to do that at all an “enhancement”?

I know what they advertised.
I also know what is (or is not) in the game.
It may change in future but right now the feature is not available.

I’m sure it will return, I like to spectate in multiplayer and leagues when a track I do not want to race comes up. Lets see what Week in review has to say later today.
The current state of multiplayer be it hoppers, private lobbies no AI no spectator ect ect ect is a giant rub for allot of the player base.
The die hard fans appear to be holding out hope on some mega feature patch and I really wish I could just jump on board that thought train and ride it la la land, but the reality is Turn 10 did not advise that the multiplayer was a work in progress element at launch , so players expectation is that the feature set should already be there. What we have is half an interns day of work whipping up some hopper rule sets.
It was not addressed with the recent press release either, the game marketed its self as been some feature rich ultimate multiplayer experience for Forza and yet… we have nothing, Not even a simple post stating its due for release in a month or two , nothing. Amusing that Multiplayer development was so unimportant to Turn 10 , but ramming loot boxes and a soon to be micro transaction system down our throats was top of the feature lists.

What we need is a timeline from Turn 10
Turn 10 had 2 years to work on this game and they give us this really in cost me $150.00. Lets see no A class, broken party chat, can’t spectate count down timer (you don’t hear it anymore). Most people I race with don’t care about Driver gear we care about racing not looking good. To bad there are more cons then pros what a big let down Turn 10 try listening to the people that play this game and read these post or have a Tec guy we can email for help and not a sales person who has no idea about the game but someone who help build the game

This feature is in FM6, but why FM7 doesn’t have that?
Turn10 mentioned enhanced spectating modes, but there isn’t spectator mode.
Soo many good features are missed!

Yeah, another one of the features that was dropped. Hopefully it will return later though when (if?) they start trying to fix this mess.
Prepare for people to say stuff like “well the box didn’t say it had spectator mode on it, so you are entitled for expecting it!” or “I never used it anyway so it’s fine if they don’t have it this time.”

im pretty sure it will come back… forza RCs already have been confirmed, and they need spectate mode for that.

so I have looked everywhere. what happened to observing in multiplayer? am I missing it in all the menus?
it sure was nice to get to a race that was already in progress and observe. that was specially handy with endurance events.
having to just wait without the observing function takes away a lot of the fun for me.
The spectating of Multiplayer races is not possible in Forza Motorsport 7.
