Does anybody else think that the sound effect when you drive under a bridge (or any other overhead structure) is a bit goofy? Nearly every time I do it, I think that someone is crashing into me. I can’t imagine that it really sounds like that in real life. I get that driving through a tunnel would have a very unique sound, but why does a tiny little bridge sound so much like someone hitting my rear quarter panel?
I do believe the effect when going under a bridge has been exaggerated to add to the sense of speed. To me, it sounds more like a ‘woosh’; for that reason, it doesn’t bother me too badly.
Try driving a 350Z thru a tunnel. The sound isn’t exaggerated, it’s right on.
My comment on ‘exaggeration’ was strictly regarding overpasses (bridges not tunnels), as the OP is highlighting. I’ve driven under many an overpass in a Ford GT - among other vehicles - and the sound of the ‘woosh’ is exaggerated in Forza. Heck, going under billboards and whatnot in Forza sounds like a Wiffle ball bat being swung. I don’t mind it, though. It’s just a videogame.
I like it personally
