So you think you've been lied to? Well, your not the only ones

Ouch. I have game-pass and can play up to 10 hours without ordering. Not sure I’m even going to bother.

Modifications that are purely cosmetic. You can put on the biggest rear spoiler and there is no change to the aerodynamics, the weight, the handling. As arcady as the driving is in NFS, you wouldn’t feel a difference anyway…
It’s much easier to integrate purely cosmetic modfifiactions. In Forza, every modification needs to make sense and needs to be balanced PI-wise…

We already have the physics in the game for downforce, yet we have the same rear spoilers that have been around since FM3-4. They are horrid looking (even worse on hatchbacks). Cosmetic or not, it’s something that many players have asked to have updated.

Didn’t keep up with this game’s prerelease. Just noticed it launched and I could play a free trial. I don’t hate it yet, but it doesn’t seem like something I’ll get at full price. The cartoonish effects are absolutely untroubling.

When will the moaning stop?

So they went with a different approach. Something that looks fresh and new and all people can do is complain endlessly. You haven’t even played the game yet (neither have I btw).

NFS has never had a good driver view. My biggest gripe about any driving game is it doesn’t have a good driver view.

I’m not going to. People will do this and never play again. In fact, 20 million people will and they will call this the greatest of all NFS games and the stupid childishly stuff will never leave. And NFS as we knew it, will be dead.

Can’t say I’m shocked. With the (massive) exception of underground 2, I’ve never been a fan of the Need for Speed games.

The way I see it, the visuals are now just as juvenile as the physics. But it’s EA. Not shocked they have no moral scruples and lied. I am excited for the next WRC game now that Codemasters has the license and it’s presumed the Dirt Rally 2.0 team is working on it. Dirt Rally 2.0 is a brilliant game that pulls very few punches. Outside of that I have zero hope for anything EA, and even the next WRC game will be eyed with scepticism.

Dead? It’s still very popular. It also has a vastly superior customization system over Forza. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t have the simcade handling Forza Horizon has

A vastly superior cosmetic customization system over Forza. It’s only visuals, no function…

By dead, I’m talking about future titles carrying forward the animation crap because of inflated players numbers from the 10 hour free play. Not dead as dead now. But this animation trick could kill the franchise if they carry it into the future.

I have no interest in even the 10 hour free play as I don’t want to be part of the inflated marketing numbers. Or even interest in the animated game itself.

This along with the issues within horizon is tipping my mind towards test drive. Even though I’m not real thrilled about the basics of that game.

Maybe I’ll just buy an MX-5 and get lots of speeding tickets. I’m old, so what!

There are several mechanical upgrades as well.

For me the best NfS will always be the original NfS Porsche for PC.
Different to the NfS’ back in the days with the serious approach & a for that time awesome test driver career.
Also got the progression right with starting in the 356 and working the way up.

Underground 2 and '05 MW are directly behind it.

Yes, there are mechanical upgrades that have no influence on the visuals. And there are cosmetic upgrades like body kits and big rear wings that have no influence on the car’s performance at all. Doesn’t make any sense to me…

At least that’s how it was in NFS Heat. I played it for a couple of days and gave up on this whole franchise for the time being…

And many if not most of the performance upgrades in Forza don’t affect the visuals. And we’d probably be better off if the ones that did would just stop.

Different folks, different strokes. Not everyone likes the same thing.

When will the moaning about the people moaning about games stop? This can be endless…

Horizon is a sim based arcade racer. Nfs is solely an arcade racer. Its not marketing itself as thr most realistic driving sim, and the people that buy it are buying it for its realism. I own both games. If i want to tune a car to lap a track as fast as i can i play forza, if i want to make some ridiculous over the top build and slide around with silly cartoon effect i play nfs. Comparing the two is like comparing apples and cartoon oranges

I agree. I’m happy to enjoy more than one kind of racing game. Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon, Gran Turismo, Need for Speed, Dirt, Grid… heck I played all the Ridge Racer games and those weren’t my first racing games by a long shot.

So much racing over the years… Sega GT, Sega Rally, Pole Position, Rad Racer lol.

There is an absurd amount of complaining. No matter what the devs do, no matter what games come out, all people can do is complain.
