…and I’m not talking about Storm Island, which I haven’t got to yet but am looking forward to even more after this.
I just did my first race in my first off-road championship–a cross-country event through the Zone Industrielle–and I gotta say: that was some of the most fun I’ve had in a racing game in a long, long time.
The crazy thing is, I consider myself a bit of a racing game purist (well, as pure as you can be this side of being an iRacing or Game Stock Car fanboy), but the sheer banality of bouncing through the hedgerows in a stripped-out, blown Bronco battling a Wagoneer (I mean, a WAGONEER! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!) and Wrangler was just so…freaking…awesome. I can’t remember the last time I finished a race (or a mission in GTAV, or a battle in Battlefield, or…) and actually said, out loud “wow. Now THAT was fun.” I did this time, though. Actually, I may have yelled it.
I just finished DLing FM6 Ultimate, but looks like that’s going to have to sit on the backburner for a little while longer, here. After all, I need time to double my garage count in F:H2…
I’m glad you liked your experience in Forza Horizon 2. In fact, I had exactly the same feeling when I got the game, and even today, nine months later, I still have as much fun.
I hear ya man, Horizon 2 is by far the best arcade racing game I’ve ever played. Done 116/198 championships so far and I’m far from getting bored. Brilliant, brilliant game. I wonder how they can make Horizon 3 better ;).
If you want to get Storm Island, you should hurry up - currently it is half price.
It is what I consider a console arcade-game. Otherwise, yes I think it is very good; awesome, even.
I am currently working on completing my final offline championships and, out of 168, I have 140/2 completed. I said and a half since I have done two races in Castelletto.
How could Playground Games make Horizon 3 better? That is a good question, because I have thought this through recently. Playground thought and designed a map that allows you to do many things, from playing arcadish games and the races are a challenge, in the sense you need talent to find the best path to complete your best time on each race. This is not like Forza Motorsport where there isn’t any shortcuts (which, by the way, doesn’t annoy me); but Horizon 2 takes skill.
Yea its a really fun game, one of my all time favourites especially online, although I prefer tarmac races myself lol, currently done about 200/168 championships and just aiming for level 999
I don’t know many players who reached level 999, since people generally lose their game saves with the synchronisation.
Personally, I am at 423 even though I have bought this game for Christmas. I might not seem a lot, but when you consider the time I spend playing Xbox, it is pretty decent.
