Skills & Perks List in FH3

The gameplay video from Gamescom shows many of the same Skills that appeared in FH2 and FH1. Skills are actions triggered by driving in certain ways. Performing a skill to better degrees (Great, Awesome, Ultimate) earns more points. Performing two types of skills at the same time is a Combo worth even more points. Chaining skills back to back increases a multiplier for the points.

Barrel Roll - Jump and spiral in the air and land on four wheels
Lumberjack - Wreck a tree stump (around the Mill etc) at over 50mph
Fruit Salad - Wreck the banana road sign

Two questions in regards to this perk.

  1. Can I buy more than one of this at a time? For example, if I have 20 Skill Points, can I get two of these?

  2. Provided I can do the first, does that mean that I get 2 cars at a 5% discount, or 1 car at a 10% discount?

You can only buy one at a time. After you buy it, however, all you have to do is buy any car from the autoshow for 5% off, exit the festival, repurchase the perk, then go back into the autoshow and get another car for 5% off.

:frowning:

I was hoping to get millions off of a 250 GTO. Oh well. Thanks for the answer!

I agree, it would have been nice. Since I hit the cap of 999 unspent skill points, I would have spent 200 of those skill points to get a 100% discount on one of those 10m credit cars and get it for free if it had let me… oh well :frowning:

AR12 Gaming pasted the main part from link

Below, you can find what Fulton told us about how Playground Games are reimagining the Perks system for Forza Horizon 3 – by not only introducing a whole selection of new ones, but also different types of Perks with various benefits.
“In fact, there are more of them, like three times as many [as Forza Horizon 2],” Fulton said. “So Perks worked really well in Forza Horizon 2, but the problem for me about Perks in Horizon 2 was as soon as you had unlocked them all – that was it. Done. There was nothing there to access them.”
“So we’ve tackled that in a couple ways,” he continued. “One – there are three times as many, so bang, that will take you three times as long. But you know, you’re still gonna exhaust that, so there are also a number of Perks in the game which are rechargeable. So when you activate the Perk, it occurs for a period of time or for like three uses, and then after that it becomes inactive again. So you can keep, like there’s a reason to keep earning Skill Points.”
Once you’ve earned enough points by driving with style, you’ll earn yourself a ‘Skill Point’ to spend in the Skill Shop – where you can find a selection of various Perks. These include benefits such as “instant cash prizes, drift score multipliers, or even the ability to fast travel anywhere” across the map. While details have yet to be revealed about other Perks that will be included in the game, you can expect many of them to be inspired by the Mods system in Forza Motorsport 6, and of course the Perks found in Forza Horizon 2.

Seems to be 75 or so perks and some go away, you need to keep getting points to keep them going. Sorry if it’s been said, I honestly haven’t seen it.

Rechargeable perks? Sounds interesting!

Rechargable perks sounds pretty sweet. Something to keep you interested as the game goes on. There time’s as many perks sounds cool. Just excited to see what they are.

ya, seems to be like you need a certain amount of perks points to keep them. No idea if you need a constant amount that drains as you use them or you just rebuy.

Also curious if the horizon cars that have special stats are also different perks or just stats to do certain things

So I just got 1.5mil in skillscore and only got 1perk for it…

I stopped direct after to record it wirh xbox button then X… So is this a bug? Gonna try next time to not do that…

This happend to me twice now… Is the perk meter 100k for one?

/ Jontelito

You can only get 3 points per chain, no matter how many points you get you can only get 3 and yes it’s 100k per point. (I have every skill)

This was new to me, please explain more

3point per chain = ?
You have every skill = all skills bought by perks?

Yes this seems to be correct. If you are farming skill chains using the perk increased skill level it seems to be most efficient to stop the chain at 50,000 x 6 = 300,000.
Under a skill song, you can stop at 25,000 x 12 = 300,000.

Any more do not yield skill points unfortunately.

Ok thats good to know! Thank you guys!

I meant I have all the perks 75/75. You can only get 3 skill points from a skill chain regardless if you get… Say 1 million skillscore

I think that if someone purchases the Horn Accelerator Pack and unlocks all the horns, then the associated perks that unlock those horns should be automatically unlocked so we don’t have to waste skill points on them.

Fast Travel Anywhere Service perk/skill

I bought this. But not sure what is going on.

The description is:

The Fast Travel Anywhere Service is added to your Festival. Use the map to instantly hop around Australia.

But I still have to pay to fast travel?

What I am saying is I had to pay to fast travel before unlocking this skill/perk/festival boss item. Nothing seems to have changed.

Do I need to activate it somewhere?

I believe without the perk, you can only Fast Travel between Festivals. But WITH the perk, you can travel anywhere. But yes, you’ve still got to pay unless you’ve collected all Fast Travel Boards.

Ok, thanks.

I never tried to fast travel to anywhere other than the festivals before buying the perk.

Off to collect more travel discounts!
