I’m probably biased because I’m not a huge fan of today’s music, and while I liked the soundtrack in the first game, the soundtracks in 2, 3, and 4 have ranged from okay to terrible. More often than not, I find myself turning the radio off because I’ve got tired of hearing the same songs over and over again, and I either open Spotify and play music of my own choosing, or I just listen to sound of the engines. I’m definitely not saying we should eliminate the racing festival element from the Horizon games, but maybe its time we forget about the music if the soundtrack isn’t going to be the best, or well integrated into the game.
Soundtrack and festival theme is fine tbh. But they definitely need to gather around and rethink what kind of things people actually wear to these festivals…
Yes!
More TDU style; bigger map, more interesting roads, houses, garages and showrooms! Combine this with the Forza engine, physics and improved multiplayer, equals the best racing game ever.
Just my opinion, before angry people start complaining…
Here is my take: Even thought I do not like any music being played while I am driving, I understand that a good number of players (maybe even most) love the music, so it would be totally unfair to expect that the music be eliminated.
I just wish that we had the ability to set music (as well as the incessant in game talking) level to zero. That way I could hear my cars as well as the environmental sounds. Currently my only option is to mute the whole system. That works to eliminate the music and talking, but leaves me without the ability to hear my cars…
You have always been able to turn off the radio by toggling through the stations. I don’t think you can do anything about the talking but I’ve never listened to the music since the FH1.
I’ve always thought the music festival aspect was stupid. It doesn’t ruin the game for me, it’s just kind of annoying sometimes.
Personally I’d like to see it pushed to more of a Goodwood-style festival rather than Lollapalooza/Coachella/Glastonbury that just happens to also have car racing going on around it. Nothing wrong with having bands and entertainment etc, but the cars should be the focus and none of the main Festival sites have ever really given this vibe (the radio DJs aren’t that bad as they do talk about upcoming events and barn finds, interviews etc)
The soundtracks have definitely been getting worse, but then again I have also been getting older…
Getting older is not the problem, that just proves the music is getting worse instead of better. I prefer rock/metal myself so the radio get’s instantly turned off.
Need for Speed always seemed to have good music that was mostly racing related as well. But lately, all games music is pretty much generic synthetic loops.
NFS Underground probably had one of my favorite soundtracks even though it did have so rap type music, but not the gangsta stuff so it was tolerable and even enjoyable at times.
