seem to have lost my save data HELP?

A few months ago I let my gold membership lapse. Then today I wanted to play FORZA 4 bad. So I re instated my gold and went to play the game and I got a error code telling me that cloud could not be accessed. I followed the trouble shooting help on XBOX customer page then spent an hour in chat with Trey @ customer support. He believes that when I re established my XBOX gold account it somehow replaced my old saved game with a new one. I would like to know if there is a way to pull my old saved game data up and give me back all my cars and CR’s back. I love this game but I will be D@mned if want to start over. Please help???
