We’re not sure if Turn 10 will be returning with an official Scavenger Hunt but in the meantime we thought we’d get a community Hunt going.
Rules:
Every week we will provide a clue pointing to a certain feature or location on the Horizon 2 map.
Unfortunately there’s no prizes up for grabs. This contest is purely for fun!
To enter, simply take an in-game photo of whatever you think we are looking for and post that picture in this thread. Links to specific photos in your Forza Horizon Gallery will also be counted.
Hunts will run from Friday to Friday.

If you’ve noticed something whilst cruising around in-game and it’s not already been featured in Scavenger Hunt then send me a PM with full details of where the item can be found. If I’m able to verify it then it’ll be put on file as a future Scavenger Hunt item.
Though I never participated in these in FH1, the idea seemed awesome. Scouring the map in free roam, learning the map aswell.
Good idea to start this up! Maybe try to get featured in the “in focus” for more spotlight and maybe prizes from T10.
As for me I think I may participate this time around, so I’ll be on the lookout!
I’ll see if I can PM someone about prizes. I remember a while ago there was an article about Turn 10 helping out with community contests.
Ha ha, I’d settle just for this thread getting made a sticky, but a mention in the WIR or something would definitely draw attention. But I imagine Turn 10 will reserve this for when they (hopefully) do their own official thread.
How does it work with the next week? Are you taking volunteers or does the person who wins the scavenger hunt get to determine the next one? I guess the winner would be the earliest posted correct photo?
I’m happy for anyone and everyone to PM me suggestions which I can check out. If there’s more than one suggestion a week I can store up the extra’s and keep them for weeks when we need them. I know from limited experience with the Horizon 1 thread that there was weeks I couldn’t dedicate enough game time to find something worth hunting for, so it’s good to have a reserve.
I’m just a facilitator in this thread. At the moment I have the time to check it every Friday and keep it updated. But I know I’m not good enough to keep finding items that will keep the community at bay - so I’m definitely looking for help lol.
Is this thread focused on XOne users? Because in the 360 versions, some areas are inaccessible. It would be nopice if you’d make hunts that can be completed by everyone, including us 360 users
Sometimes they lean on community members though so there’s hope! Back in FM2 Brad O Shizno, just a forum regular, ran the official paint comps. Every week he would message the winners to T10 and they would gift the unicorns.
Unfortunately I have no access to a 360 copy of the game, but I’d be more than happy if someone who does can partner with me. That way we can check the suggestions on each system and pick Hunt targets that work for both systems.
I’ve PM’d HeliosT10 to see if something can be sorted re. prizes.
Another thought I’ve had is that if we can’t sort out prizes, an option would be if a couple of painters could make special “Hunt” liveries. My thinking is if someone made a “Scavenger Hunt” paint job, they could give it a coded name and PM me that code. Once folks complete the Scavenger Hunt for that week, I can PM any successful entries the code for the paint job to search for on the design storefront. This could also work for tunes but I can see paints being more popular/ desirable.
So… any volunteers for paint jobs?
EDIT: I’ll have a go at making a paint job or two but my efforts pale next to some of the work on here.
I wouldn’t mind running the 360 versoin for you, i put a lot of hours i the game because i (oddly) kinda like it. I’ve seen and driven around the entire map so i personally know some nice photo shots. I’m also the host of the [Mod edit - WSD - Not official] FH2 Xbox 360 Photo Gallery, so i know quite a bit about photography. PM me if you’re interested
I’m in. I loved this in the previous Horizon, and I’m interested to see how this one fares. I’m stumped so far though - it’s probably because of the limited playing time I’ve had since release. I blame school and work.
Well, week 1 has come and gone with no submissions. I’m going to claim it as a hollow victory but a victory nonetheless that the community could not best my scavenging clue!
What we were looking for on the Xbox ONE was a snap of one of the many hot-dog vendor stands dotted around the Horizon map. Look closely at these stands and you’ll see emblazoned across them the bold claim that they are in fact the “Best in town” - not that there seems to be much competition from rival hot dog firms in Horizon lol.
On the Xbox 360 our Hunt was themed towards the UK release of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with the clue being “Donatello’s favourite”. In truth we could have used any of the brothers’ names as one thing all four ninja-turtles share in common is their love of pizza. A simple photo of a pizza stand would have been enough to complete our week 1 Hunt.
But alas we are now onto week 2, with our new clue for the One and 360 versions now up.
Closing date tomorrow folks. If you fancy trying to beat my clue then you’ve got one last night of gaming. Get out there and see if you can complete the Hunt!

Xbox ONE - “Back to Front”
There’s a hotel on the very northern edge of Montellino which has a small ramp leading from street level up to it’s main entranceway. Just to the side of the door is a plaque with the word HOTEL printed back to front.
Xbox 360 - “Neon Pink”
At the far end of the map in Sisteron is a Patisserie with a bright neon pink sign.
Well, here’s hoping next week’s clue get a bit more response! New Hunts now up on page 1.
