I noticed this a lot lately. I select several designs and the dialog box says the design is being saved and applied to the car with each one i select. Then if i select another design in the browse window and I go to check my designs the previous design is not to be found here. What’s up with that? I even tried selecting the same design several times and then select another but still the latest is only saved in my designs. Designs for other cars save fine. weird…
You aren’t using the generic ‘Forza’ name for a design file, are you? I’ve noticed that this can create some issues when loading a file to a vehicle. Make sure you are using unique save file names for each to help prevent this problem.
Sorry I forgot to mention that this occurs when browsing designs posted by others and downloading them but you might be on to something because many of them are only named forza. Bummer I hope they can fix that because it clearly says that the design is downloading and being applied to your car …
Am I really the only one having this problem? Random designs from other people are not saved even though the dialog box says so.
You aren’t the only one, but a previous reply explained what is going on. From what I was able to tell, it’s bad downloading a bunch of liveries called “Forza.” I once downloaded several replica liveries for the E21 but most vanished. There remained one Forza and a couple with unique file names. This suggests the Forza one overwritten the other Forzas. Painters need to pick unique file names.
I understand the possible explanation you give but I think this is odd because never once in Forza 4 or 3 when downloading a design did it go missing and I downloaded A LOT.
Why does the system not just rename files to forza (1) forza (2) and so on if they all are named forza to begin with? This must be fixed because it’s very annoying and bizarre that Turn10 didn’t catch this error before release. It seems like a very simple thing to fix …
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I’m having this problem too. I’m trying to save designs for my 2011 Ford Falcon V8SC from designer FPR GT, but only two of their designs have been saved in My Designs. I’ve tried saving a few of their other designs, it downloads and applies to the car, then vanishes as soon as I exit out of the Paint menu. The names of the designs I want are different, and numerous designs for other cars have successfully saved. Is there a limit I’m unaware of here?
*Fixed - I needed to strip the car down to its basic design via selecting Paint, and then new selected designs saved as per normal.
I found this too and found a workaround. If you erase the current livery first and then browse for a new one and apply it works. Seems to prefer a blank canvas to work on!
I had this issue on the Lotus 49, Foyt Ford, Xmas Hyundai Veloster and Hunt McLaren.
