I always play on my PC. The last time I bought a games consol, was when the PS2 came out.
I think banning the word hot is absolutely pathetic. All around the world, a lot of companies at race tracks run “Hot Ride” cars on specific days.
How do I know this???
Until a couple of years ago, I worked at an international race circuit in the UK for 17 years, and when we ran the racing school, the customers got a free “HOT RIDE” by thier instructor in the saloon car they practiced in, and then if they wanted to, they could pay extra for a “Super Ride” in what we called a Jaguar JP1, a proper 2 seater race car very similar to what is called a Radical SR3/SR8.
It wouldn’t be the same if they were called “luke warm” rides.
PATHETIC - I have been temporarilly banned, for 3 days from sharing any of the decals or liveries I have literally spent hours making for the enjoyment of others.
REASON - I tried 4 times to name this livery with “HOT” rides in the name and was reported 4 times, and now I have a ban.
It just goes to show that the developers couldn’t care less about customer satisfaction once they have your money… Yeah… so what if you get banned for a crime you did not commit - NO REFUND.
Tonight I put in a ticket complaining about my ban and for them to overturn my ban. The thing that I find disgusting is that my “automated message” said that if it happens again, “the next ban will be permanent”.
If I get another ban for something that is wrong because of thier faulty software, I will take it further. “Lible”, “Banning” and “Defemation of Character” without proof of guilt are offenses in my part of the world.
Just because a company is large, doesn’t make it immune to prosecution. A lot of courts are also not stupid in that they know that powerful companies bully consumers, so they tend not to let them get away with it. Companies are NOT above the law, they have to abide by it just like everyone else.
Years ago, I once took the UK police to court for not following procedures properly when they stopped me in my BMW E46 330 for a spot check and won my case and got compensation. If people or companies are out of order, the courts tell them so.
It’s not the livery itself, but the naming when you want to share it. I tried 4 times in 5 minutes to name it with “taxi” and “hot” in the name. Both taxi and hot are banned words. Made worse by automated messages and an automated ban on the amount of messages they send you. 4 messages in 5 minutes got me an illegal ban. You cannot punish someone without cause. How the hell is anyone supposed to know that simple inoffensive words in thier mother tongue are banned.???
That is the problem. Automated bans will ruin this game.
I was looking forward to FH6, but now I’m wondering if it’s worth all this aggravation with the word filter. I may get a permanent ban just for naming words using the proper English language.
As has been said the blocked words on saves and descriptions are a totally separate issue, nobody has been banned for trying words that are blocked. The word or phrase just get blocked, the content doesn’t get shared and you just have to rename the creation/reword the description until it passes.
Your bans are because somebody either saw a livery you shared (which obviously got past the word filter) or you driving around in one of your cars and felt the need to report the livery/you for inappropriate content. IIRC they usually delete the offending livery so if you have loads it can be hard to tell what is gone. If you got several infringments at the same time its likely that PGG/T10 received a number of reports.
I’m sure you realise they won’t do anything. You could put in a ticket but their stupid set-up is, well, how it is. It’s absurd, it’s self-defeating, it makes them look like total idiots but they won’t do anything. If enough people complain and stop spending money - and we’re talking millions of people - they might look into it. I’d guess not, though, because T10 is not enough of a money-maker for the Microsoft overlord to care about them killing it by themselves. Bear in mind I imagine T10 get told less than we do and we’re told sweet FA.
could possibly be “fixed” by having an age-restricted server based on profile settings as well as an open server but generally the world appears to prefer one-size-fits-none non-solutions to issues regardless of how simple it might be to fix
