I was in a lobby a couple days ago,c class, and there was a guy (or gal)that I knew was clearly better than me. I got the lead after the first corner but knew it was only a matter of time till I got passed. He or she waited till the last lap and flew by like I was standing still! Why?! Just race and don’t belittle people like that. I know a lot of people are better than me. And that’s fine but when someone purposely humiliates another racer, that’s just bad sportsmanship.! And yes, I left that lobby.
I don’t see where’s the bad sportsmanship in all of this. I would be very happy that a faster guy would tailgate me for a long time. Now, if he was to slam you of the track or something else as nasty, now I would understand your point.
Would you prefer to maybe not finish the race? I would think that might be more humiliating.
Lately I’ve raced in some really solid lobbies where I’m nowhere near the fastest racer, but not that long ago it seemed like a large number of the lobbies I’d enter would be full of much slower racers and I’d end up making most of the other racers DNF, so sometimes I’d just mess around for a bit or end up waiting at the finish line. 45 seconds is not a very long end of race timer.
If I’m in a lobby where I’m blowing people away , I’ll leave and try to find a lobby where people are challenging me I don’t consider it fun to purposely slow down to let other racers finish. That’s why I play is because it’s fun, right?
Did he ram you to pass? Maybe he was just waiting for the correct opening as to pass cleanly? Making a clean pass doesn’t always just happen in the first corner they catch you on. Takes a few laps to see where there is an opening at, and then take advantage. Also they should have to leave because they are faster? Lobby hopping to find somewhere else is a waste of time as the game 9 otta 10 times puts you in the same one over and over.
This feels like a silly thing to complain about.
Why, Oh Why, don’t people communicate?
It’s not unusual for me to end up in a lobby where I’m quicker than the other players. I will often hang back and race “with” those players, instead of “hot-lapping by myself” way out front. However, I try to use the mic to Talk To The Other Players! It can become fun, friendly competition instead of sterile, anonymous gaming. I’ll also sometimes pull out a slower car to make it more competitive. And, yes, if I am way out front, I’ll slow down and wait at the finish line so other racers don’t DNF.
For me it’s fun to play With other people, rather than Against unknown cars. That’s why I play - because it’s fun, right?

I am with you, I am not worried about what others are doing, if they are winning, or if they are way faster, I know I am not the best, hell I download other peoples tunes (Raceboy77 - favorite and trusted) because I am to lazy to actually put time and brain cells into tuning my own cars. I honestly just enjoy the comrade among the players that are talking I could care less if I win or lose. It’s just a game. Now BF4 is a different story that is a war and I am out to win.
Ok I see your point it can still be fun using a slower car for yourself. What I am talking about is the guys that are top 10 in the world racing with mid level players like me I enjoy trying my guts out to try to beat someone who is faster but sometimes it’s not even competitive

I get the frustration but you are looking at it all wrong. Look at it as a compliment. Normally when i race and im faster than the person in front of me i will just sit there until i can pass cleanly. Sometimes i dont get to pass at all because the slower driver in front of me didnt mess up and leave me an opening to get by cleanly. I will send them a message and tell them good race because they deserved it.
If it is bugging you that he is right behind you the whole time pull off to the side and let him go by.

Wow…this sounds like a presidential speech for equality and fairness…news flash…life is not fair. You are never gonna get everything you ask for. Maybe you should just do rivals racing. then you will be challenged according to your skill level
Actually there is an achievement for passing someone on the last lap and winning the race. It’s called “Down to the Wire”. Could this have been a possibility?

This is what I am thinking. Maybe he/she needed that achievement. If they raced clean, that’s all that should matter.
Seems like a top bloke to me, when I’m the best racer in the lobby I make a game of trying to make everyone using LB cars DNF, if innocent bystanders get caught in the crossfire I do feel a little bad though. Usually on Bathurst and Prague, I’m not good enough at any other tracks.
By the way, there’s nothing “wrong” with LB cars, it just gives me the hint that they’re really trying to win, and not leveling up their Jeep affinity of something.
Yes but there isn’t one for arrogance or imatureity if your better than me than just frigging pass me and kick my but . That’s what has made me get better, getting my but kicked. Am I alone in this?

If they were 5 secs ahead at the end of lap one you can not race with them ie racing close. Trying to stay ahead of a car that is on your bumper or trying to catch a car one second in front is what helps me get quicker.
Lapping 5 seconds off the pace does not bring out the best in me. But maybe that is just me.
Another option is that some of the quick drivers hang back at the start to avoid the carnage and work their way through the field. Also sometimes tunes can be tough to drive until the tyres warm up, one or two of my cars are like that so I take it easy for a lap.
Maybe they are doing it for kicks. All I can suggest is try to enjoy the game and try to ignore those who frustrate or humiliate you. For most of us there is always someone out there who is a lot quicker than us.

I’m sure you’re not alone in this… however…
I’d bet that the majority of folks would prefer to race against whomever is available, rather than shutting off the console because they out-class (or under-class) the rest of the players currently online.
You, individually, don’t mind getting DNF’d over and over. Or maybe you do, so you just leave the lobby if somebody is beating you. You, individually, also apparently don’t mind being half a lap ahead at the finish, causing everyone else to DNF.
But, that’s you, individually. Not everyone feels that way, and not everyone considers it arrogance or immaturity to give another player a challenge, rather than just “kicking his butt.”

Well, then leading gave you an opportunity to better yourself in defensive driving right? Not blocking, not ramming but driving a defensive line which makes it harder to pass…When I am out front and I have someone quick catching up it makes me race harder, doesn’t it do the same for you?
Yes exactly big papa! If someone makes me dnf. Then I’ll try to build a better car
Don said it right in his first post. If I know I am the fastest in the room, I will pull out a slower car that I like using that does not post the best times on the leaderboards to make it more competitive. If I am still faster, I will let everybody pass me at the start (partly to avoid the first turn pile up) and work my way through the field. Racing is much more fun than hot lapping.
I have never given up or shut the console off because I got my but kicked. I don’t get dnf’ed over and over . This is a very competitive game but I don’t see that sandbagging is too competitive. I enjoy the game very much, I’m just expressing my oppinion . That’s what this forum is for,is it not?
