As I am pleased for now doing many laps I exit.
On menu with tabs I choose Finish.
Then get a message to confirm laptime will be recorded but race result will not, something like that.
How do you exit properly?
I even make a better lap than target time from rival, but next time I go to race that rivals time is still there to beat.
I don’t really grasp this it seems.
Any ideas… bought F7 just a few weeks ago.
Thanks.
Is your rival’s time a clean or dirty one? A slow clean lap beats a faster dirty lap…

Thanks, yes I learned about keeping track of the triangle - but still get the question and comment “laptime will be recorded but not race result…”.
Ending race with Menu button and then Finish race.
I don’t play rivals much but isn’t this what is supposed to happen?
You choose a rival to beat and that’s the time you race against till you end.
I didn’t think it auto updated the rival.
I must check my own game

Might be something server side? The past few days, my rival races have been hard-crashing the game when I exit. Dumped right back to windows desktop.
That message always appears when you quit. I have always took it to mean that the lap you are currently on will not be recorded, which makes sense. Since it is not a “race” there is noting to record?
As you beat rivals, you are going to go up against faster and faster opponents each time automatically. The selection screen rival page will always have the next challenger listed which is just a bit faster than you.
You’re problem seems unique. After a lap that you beat the ghost car, a notification at the top of the screen should say you beat them and who the next rival is. Make sure you are seeing that (while still keeping your eyes on the road).

When I start it shows the next rival to beat.
I do laps till I beat it, and also see to that no triangel on laptime meaning it is clean.
Running laps it shows a new time to beat.
I press menu and the best clean laptime is shown.
I press Finish race, not quit which really seems like not recording anything.
So get the notification laptime will record, but not race result?
What can you do, no other way to exit unless quite.
It would be one thing if there were an objective, like finish third or better or similar like on audi rush, or what it’s called.
Next time entering rivals, I have another name and laptime to beat.
Just trying to understand the concept of rivals. And think I do but wonder about the message notification.
Don’t remember if a clean lap but worse time exiting does give me a recorded time also, if that might be that ending and not the very best laptime ever, or something.
Thanks guys for input. Is not loosing sleep over this or anything, just feel like getting into the full concept.
I think you got it right. It is “just be faster next time.” That is all there is to it. You can check the leaderboard and see that you are in the top XX% of people worldwide, your area, and of your friends.
There are some sponsored rival challenges that you can win cars, drivitar gear, paint schemes, etc on weekly events if you come in the top 50% or even just posting a clean lap.
It really is just that simple. And I think it is great fun!
If you really want to feel bad about yourself, set the #1 time as the ghost car. That’s never a good time, ha!
