You mean all of them? Or even online races. Most cars dont truly get to temp until lap 5… theres not an online race thats not custom thats that long…
Road Atlanta is a good example of how important it is to nail that last turn for optimal speed thru the line. I improved on that turn solely from Rivals. I had a habit of being safe, now I just coast along the edge. I can appreciate having to focus on the last section of a track, at the very least because I HATE driving thru the ghost, it discombobulates me, so I need to get perfect thru the line. Something is wrong if I am not able to cross the line even if not in front, so I would probably stop to check my driving line or tune.
I guess I don’t understand why people are complaining about having to make laps in a racing game. I don’t know why the rest of you bought this game but I bought it to drive cars. If you don’t like turning laps I suggest you never try tuning the cars yourself.
Agree with OP, first lap is rather pointless. @moparjay, I don’t think people are complaining about having to do laps; it’s about having to do pointless laps.
Personally, I loathe hot lapping Nordschleiffe and LeMans for this very reason; a rolling start from the last corner I would very much appreciate.
I guess my point is…unless you are perfect at every track and sit on top of every LB, there are no pointless laps. Every lap made is a chance to improve your time. Especially, if you’re like me and don’t use the drive line. One of the things I like about these games is that you can never really “beat the game”. You can always improve your lap times and there is always someone out there that’s faster than you. And, I love hotlapping Nordschleife. When I get bored with career mode, tired of being wrecked in turn 1 in the online lobbies and have to step away from a car I’m trying to tune, I go to the Nurburgring and try to beat my previous time. That’s just me though and I everyone is entitled to an opinion.
He means after he backs out to adjust his tune.
My friend and I use the 1st lap like a top gear power lap kinda deal on any track that doesn’t have a flying clean lap. It’s kinda fun, and a little quicker checking a tune or a car on a hot lap basis, if the opportunity is there. Beating a flying time with a hot lap is always fun, doesn’t really mean anything, but still a blast! In my opinion. So I personally love the 1st lap.
