Revisiting older versions

How many people go back and play the older versions of Forza? I do.

This last weekend I played Forza 2 and 3. I went back to these because I’ve started to take tuning seriously. I wondered if what I’ve learned applies to the old versions. It does. In Forza 2 I had a car I could never tune for the Tsukuba. It is a D class car. It should do well there. I looked at what I did the car. I realized the upgrades I put in weren’t the best. I replaced them and knew what adjustments to make to the tuning. After some fine tuning, it is the fastest D class car I have for Tsukuba. I had a similar experience at Fuji Kaido in Forza 3. It appears that tuning might be a little easier in the older versions. Either that or I’ve got a lot better at it.

Of the older versions, I like Forza 2’s driving best. I just have a good feel for the cars. Forza 3 and 4’s career modes are much better. Forza 4 requires more work than the previous versions. Forza 5 has the best graphics and the driving has a better feeling to it. I get the feeling I’m in car that the other versions don’t have. I don’t like the career mode in Forza 5. I wish it more like Forza 3 or 4.

On a side note, I do play Forza Horizon. It’s just a fun game to play. I play it when I want to relax.

Yes I do, just played forza 3 to run on some different tracks with different cars.

I tried, but I can’t drive without the trigger rumble anymore. My braking in FM4 and even FH1 has gone to pot.

Like when you’re batteries go flat mid race… Panic ensues!

I’ve been on fm4 and 3 recently. Awesome games still.

Heck yeah, I do! Gotta get my money’s worth out of the Fanatec.

Same here… I’m still pretty PO’d that my CSR setup isn’t compatible with the One. That was quite and investment, and thankfully I can use it on my PC to play Assetto Corsa and other titles, as well as play 360 titles…

As for going back, I do… FM3 & 4… Sometimes Horizon, but not much…

I’ve been playing a lot of FM5 recently, but I also enjoy going back to FM4. There are other cars and tracks that I enjoy to race and they’re not in FM5.

It’s the same for me. Lately I’ve spent more time playing Forza 4 instead of Forza 5 because I wanted to have fun driving some of the great cars that unfortunately were not brought back in FM5. Like the NSX GT500 on Tsukuba or the JGTC R34 around Suzuka. Graphics and sounds are inferior…but the fun factor is still there, stronger than ever.

Yezziirrr! Own an X360 and still play FM3 and 4.

I miss my copy of FM2. The disc went bad and I haven’t been able to find it on the market since. Can’t order online m’afraid since got no CC.

Personally, I feel FM4 is the best on X360- physics-wise and the audio is brilliant. Though FM2’s audio is worth a mention as I feel in some ways it surpasses FM3.

Tracks probably looked the best in FM3. So much detail and color.

At the end of the day though, if I had to choose JUST one, it’d be FM4. Purely for the physics.

Long… live… FOORZAAA! King Leonaedus scream

I bumped back to Forza 4 to cure a Maple Valley jones but it felt very very clunky. I don’t know if I just picked a terrible car or if I got too used to the different physics.

Still play Forza 4 on a semi regular basis and play Horizon once in a while its been a while since played 2 and 3 and never owned or played the first game.

Yes. I probably play 4 more than 5. Forza 4 has Cat and Mouse and all my friends still play on 4. Every other day we’re playing Cat and Mouse.

Navigating through the menus on Forza 4 makes it seem like a different development team worked on Forza 5. A team that didn’t go thru the menus on 4 to see how it should work and what needed to be included.

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one. I played mostly Forza 2 and 3 this last week. I’ve decided I’m going to finally complete the career series in both of them.

One of things I miss in Forza 5 is the beautiful courses in the earlier versions. In my opinion Maple Valley is gorgeous. Fujimi Kaido is also quite beautiful. There are some nice looking tracks in Forza 5 but not the most beautiful ones.

I also agree with the menus being better in the earlier versions except for Forza 2. The menus were easier to navigate in Forza 3 and 4.

One of my favourite things is the menu before you start in Forza 3 with the car revving and passing. That, to my ears is great!

Still playing Forza 4 over here. While I still play a lot of Forza 5, it’s nice to use the tracks is 4 that are not available in 5.

I used to play a lot of 4 but haven’t in a few months. The main friend I played with online doesn’t have xbox live anymore.

I got from work today and decided to stroll down memory lane. I loaded Forza Motorsport (no number). I had to set up my Xbox (again no number) to do this. I was amazed it worked. I ran 4 races. The game has advanced a lot since then but the basic game hasn’t changed. Road Atlanta, Maple Valley, Silverstone, and Tsukuba all look the same. Well, they look the same if I’m not wearing my glasses. After this little stroll, I have to say Turn 10 has done a good job keeping true to the original game. The changes to the game haven’t changed the feel that much.
