The UX is not intuitive.

Hey select tires, now select fuel but in the same format and position. First few times I had no idea what was going on and I have a very high IQ of 76.

A multi-step process should follow a guideline to show step 1, step 2 with a graphical equivalent.

It IS basic UX easily implemented by basic UI.

Please allow us to select an actual number of laps for fuel and not just 10%, 20%, etc.

Sometimes 10% is too little and 20% is too much.

there is no option to plan the pitstop strategy before the race
there is no radio telling me to pit this lap
there is no pitcrew cinematics when other cars pitting

Before adding features, please fix the Pit Stop skip bug as this bug can save a few seconds per pit, very important in a competitive game such as FM.

Im pretty sure there is.

all I get is the last lap info

So just like the other menus where things make no sense. Lol I’m not going to lie I’ve used pitting 2 times and had no clue how to select anything.

It wasn’t until I watched someone play on YouTube that I kind of realized what was going on. I haven’t used pitting since then because I uninstalled the game but I’m sure I could figure it out now.

Pitting UI should be made more intuitive… Simple as that.

  1. There should be no ability to change fuel load if the game mode doesn’t allow it. It’s a thing in Rivals and especially Spec Rivals.

  2. Both car instrument cluster and game UI should display actual amount of fuel in litres. Or whatever is the most realistic option depending on a car. Just don’t force players to witness American measurement system.

  3. Last time I raced EV the pre-race fuel/tire screen was always predicting 0 laps of fuel no matter the percentage you chose. You had to guess in order to not race with full load and have enough for a finish. EV fuel load also affected the predicted lap times (now it doesn’t, so either I’m mistaken or it was fixed) so it was confusing and not intuitive in general. Right now it shows predicted laps while driving but not in the fuel/tires screen.

  4. I’d like to see the tire selection and number of pits of all players in multiplayer. It’s useful information, also it’s important for such things to be transparent so we can see if some exploit is being used. It shouldn’t take up too much space. Just put the same circled S/M/H in order of them being used. If it’s just H/0 then the player spent the whole race on Hards. If its M>S/1 then he pitted once and switched to Softs.

Well, this latest patch is supposed to have fixed tire wear in private multiplayer, does that include single player(free play/career) as well? If not, in single player, I’d like a reason to pit at all… That being having the same tire wear, perhaps slider adjustable for rate of wear, since in free play you can make races long.

I haven’t logged in since the recent update but I noticed before you sometimes cant select mandatory pit stops in Timed Races.

Edit: just tried. No mandatory pit option for a 30 min Timed Race at Catalunya GP Circuit. Definitely more than 3 laps.

Just copy what Codemasters do in F1 Games.

I enjoy the pitting in the game, it’s an important feature, but in my opinion it could do with some changes:

  1. Make pitting longer
The current pitting times match those of F1, which is the fastest of the fastest pits and they don’t even refuel there. If pitting took 5 seconds instead of 2.5 it will have more strategic impact and I think this would add to the gameplay!
  2. Add more features to pitting
Some simple setup chages you see in various motorsport disciplines like small aero and tyre pressure adjustments. (This is easier if the pitstop takes longer.)
  3. An animation would be nice
In the intro races, the second one with the Cadillac V-series.R, you showed an animated pitstop and it was quite sad when I didn’t see this when playing the game.
  4. Use the full pitlane
Why does everyone pit in the same spot?

Full fuel and damage modeling doesn’t even follow the modeling of FM7. You can’t have a long race where pitting becomes a factor in the race a single player. And AI cars are not held to the same random fuel allotments as humans so if your car has to pit in a short single player race your race is ruined.

The pitting needs to be re-worked to be more realistic and reliable.

It would be nice to be able to change tune in pits. At the very least in Rivals mode. Because having to quit, load, go to tune, save, and then load back in, it’s a lot. And here I mean access to the fuel tuning menu, just to be clear.

Might be interesting to be able to have the option to disable refuelling in pit stops. Some racing series don’t have refuelling (e.g. F1), so you need you full load at the start, or get rekt. Hopefully the game can be smart enough to tell you when you’ve set more laps than a full fuel load can accomplish.

It would also be nice to have an option where pitting gives you a million car XP on all your cars. Just sayin’.

Would be great to have some kind of mdf implemented in the UI to change pit stop strategy and then full control over the whole drive through. 30 seconds mandatory pitstop for longer races, pit limiter and stuff. I get this is simplified feature but would add more variables.

I’d use pit stop to serve penalties as well. 3 warnings for cutting the track and DT. Even with current system it’s easy to do.

I think the only thing i would like is a more customisable fuel level in the pit. Sure you get “custom” which grows in 10% steps and then theres the “suggested” (always massively over).

Would be nice if there was a +/-10% option and then be able to fine tune by tapping the d pad to put +/-1% steps

On the cinematic side, I don’t like how the pit crew doesn’t actually change any tyres or add any fuel via hose.

If you compare it to F1 and Gran Turismo, those games have a fully animated pit crew that takes the wheels off the car, uses wheel guns etc. to apply new ones.

In Forza you get some convenient camera placements and a bunch of wheel gun sounds, but upon closer inspection nothing is actually done to the car.

Related, all drivers in multiplayer use the same pit box, which breaks immersion.
