It doesn’t really, each time the AI rams into you and you score a 1.0 on a section isn’t really rewarding.
So all the parts have a lower level of entry. It’s a step in the right direction. IMO there shouldn’t be any levels.
It’s bad enough you fully level up a car. If you want to buy a second car same model, it’s back at a level 1. So that’s another 2hours of grinding to get access to all parts.
This system also kinda makes money useless. You barricade parts behind levels. Not wanting to buy any other cars cause you don’t have the time to spend to level up another.
Until these 2 barriers are removed, it will hinder the game’s economy.
Yup. Sitting on 2 million and still mindlessly driving my sub b class Miata trying to get it to full b. Because you know, I’m building a relationship with the car I already know I love……what a tease.
The system is awful.
It’s a flawed, poorly executed system.
We should be allowed to buy levels, but if you don’t wanna spend the CP you can also grind out a few levels instead. I like the grind, but I don’t wanna spend 2 hours per car.
I will say this, having this “progression system” has made another feature in the game break. For those who have afk farmed, their levels are all out of whack now, or as MM put it, “glitched”. So now it’s easier to see who afk farmed instead of actually using this broken “progression system”.
The real problem is in multiplayer. You can’t join a hopper and grab a new car without being stuck at the back of the pack for the whole race.
I mean, what are they thinking? Which normal person has that much time? I already avoid every browser game and MMORPG because of the time they usually require.
But I don’t expect such a barrier from a racing game. Don’t they have marketing consultants? They must have told them that the usual customer of car racing games tends to spend a lot of time beating leaderboards or are car lovers who want to drive their favorite car down the track with beautiful graphics and crisp sound.
I prefer racing and farming games because role-playing games and MMORPGs distract me so much that I spend too long at the PC. What’s the point of all this if I have to grind here? The only grind in a racing game should be voluntary, namely beating a self-imposed barrier like getting into the top 10 of the leaderboard on your favorite track.
But what happens in this game is disgusting. You punish players who have a normal life. You don’t want to buy a new car because you’re afraid of the grind.
That is what you read, not what I said.
Oh, really?
It doesn’t take even remotely that much time to unlock upgrades. This is pure FUD.
They also aren’t going to change this, as its fundamental to the design. Accept it or go back to Forza 7.
Hey, I’ll tell you like I told the last guy…I’m not the only one. That’s why they’re panicking now.
Not only I will come back to FM7. I will also personally not pay for the FM like I paid for the FM7 Ultimate if the new FM will remain in the current state. I use game pass a lot, but I use to buy the worthy games too. FM is not worth paying money at the moment.
That’s an… interesting way of putting it.
We still have to grind to level 45-50 to max out the cars the way we like, because they didn’t double the carpoints/xp. Now you just don’t unlock anything new anymore after level 25, but you still have to grind for the annoying xp and points. It barely changes anything, game is still very very grindy.
The issue remains the same after the update. All the tuners, car collectors, carpaint artists and occasional type of players are not able to enjoy the game without grinding.
2 Hours per car? Shoot far, What are you doing to level so fast?? Takes a lot longer than that in my experience. I did 3, 16 Lap Races on the full map with the really long straight, Max AI, Middle penalty and the rest set to make the most XP/Credits. And only got my car to level 23. Ended up taking me 2 Hours 25 Minutes for that as well. Brutal. Such a badly thought out system.
And you still have to grind 30x50 times if you are a completitionist
It’s actually closer to 1.5hrs. I’m runnin at lemans old mulsanne layout. Each lap takes about 5min and I can level up in 17laps. Thats 142.8 miles! (It took 37laps 310.8miles before the update).
While this is better, car upgrades shouldn’t be locked behind a gridwall . People not wanting to buy new cars cause they don’t have the time to upgrade them. That causing money not to be needed or used as intended
I know turn10 wants to innovate but this is boring, tedious and not necessary.
To upgrade a car… you need money to buy the car, then time grind for CP to unlock the parts. Then CXP to get the parts on the car. This is unnecessarily complicated, time-consuming and not feasible for most players.
Problem is while it takes less time to unlock parts (which is still too much time), you still have the same amount of CP. So I now have a bunch of parts on a bunch of cars that I still can’t possibly equip without grinding some more.
Thanks T10, for responding to feedback and reducing the levels required for the upgrades, It is greatly appreciated. Now my suggestion would be is that at Level 25, I should be able to max out my car with the car points and at each level, I should be able to max out my upgrades unlocked. Level 25+ still has the manufacturer affinity bonus and also shows how much you like a car if you got it up to Level 50, which would be a great metric in FM, to see which cars people use the most and least.
