Relearning how to drift on F5? Looking for suggestions

I started drifting in F3; I was nothing spectacular. When F4 came along, I was what I would think to be fairly average. Placed in the top 8 during most online sessions. Now with F5 it feels as though I need to make a lot of changes. Mostly to the way I tune the vehicles and seems my whole technique. I have been testing and trying to regain some ability, but feel like I’m missing something or just not doing it right. I can initiate a drift no problem, but maintaining my drift is a whole new animal.

I’m looking for any suggestions to try to bring my skills back up to something close to what I had on F4.

Vehicle preference isn’t really a matter. I have a few different cars at the moment that I’m testing. Most of my drift cars in F4 were A or S class cars. Before it seems like I could setup my car with minimal tuning and be ready to get sideways.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try playing around with the tire pressure and diff. Just go really crazy with it. This is a whole new game with a new consul. If you want try out one of my tunes and see if it helps. There is a thread I started that has all the car runes I have on there now and I’ll be putting up more cars. I am also taking request of any car so if you want a specific car just let me know in my thread.

Ok I will look at your thread again. The only cars I can think of that I would like to setup for drifting is the FD and the RX8. Both using a single turbo 1.3L or the 5.7L swap.

Ill work on a RX-8 For you and my FD Tune will be up soon.

I actually had some success with the AE86 last night. I swapped in the 1.6l rally engine and that seems to work well. I need to get the transmission gearing set up better than what I have now.

I’m glad it isn’t just me that has had to almost re-learn how to drift.

Is there a way to search tune setups so you can find decent drift ones? I had a brief look and could find a way of searching but may have missed something.

i ve found the V8 conversion always a good start to any car and add turbo if needed , whole new game etc , my fm4 tunes are useless on 5 . i find tweaking my own tunes is the best way to go as most other peoples tunes are specific to their driving style , just keep trying

I’ve finally started to have some luck with getting the cars under control by messing with the Toe. I never really had to make adjustments in the last game. Seems with this one, everything really makes a difference.
