Very fantastic race for porsche but the reliability is the most important in endurance especially in le mans. Very deception for toyota with only two car why not three like audi. Audi continue to dominate the race. This year is one of the best race since a long time with a lot of surprise and a lot of action-packed serial.

Let me tell you about my crazy experience with the 2.4 hours of Le Mans on this past Friday and the dedication, determination, and desire to do this challenge!!!

It all started about 7:30pm on Friday, My good friend Roger(TarheelFan69) and myself(Napaman3) were looking at getting in a match in the hopper and first one that it put me in had about 43min left so me being STUPID and not realizing that there were more matches we decided to wait and comeback around the time that one ended. So we did but then soon found out it put me in a totally different match but this time it had over 2 hours left bummer right. but that’s when I realized oh there are more matches just keep searching. So we kept searching and searching and finally within a hour I get in one that is just starting up I invite Roger to the match as time is ticking down to start so we could race the 2.4 hours together but guess what he doesn’t get in this match so I proceed to back out so we can get in a match together. So as we keep searching and I find a match that had 30min left to go and decide to stay in to play but this time I am sending Roger invites and he doesn’t get them and once again we don’t get in the same match!!!Bummer again but wait by this time its pushing after 10pm and getting very frustrating but we stay determined that we are going to complete this challenge. After more what you guessed it searching…we get in a match together around 10:30pm and start our journey to complete the 2.4 hours at Le Mans and we are absolutely having a ball especially since we got to race with the P class cars and we are just zooming around this magnificent track lap after lap, one of the funny things that became quite comical as we continued on was a few of the gamers in the slower R class cars would try to wreck us as we would be lapping them. One would wait just as you get beside them and try to clip you while the other one would just start swerving all over the road to block you and needles to say it work a few times that we had to pit for repairs. So around 1:10am in the morning we complete the challenge yeah!!! and get our reward badges for completing the challenge which I am now proudly displaying. Well at this point we are both exhausted but don’t put the controller down quite yet and decided to do a few drifting rival challenges, at least I did because not soon after I hear this sound on my headset from Roger’s mic and its him Snoring away zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! LOL!!! I am just cracking up at this point. All in all it was a fun and exciting challenge and apparently exhausting!!! LOL!!! that we both enjoyed and and we cant wait for this Friday to take on The Ring for 2.4 hrs!!!

Thanks

Brian

I watched the whole thing and my god was it great we had our Aston Martin flag hanging outside the house. And I made 50 bucks since Audi won. my heart sank when that Toyota slammed into the number 3 Audi. because the lost 2 cars in practice the day before so I thought at that point they were out, but I was wrong. I guess Kristensen I going to have to wait for next year to get his 10th win there since the number 2 car got 1st and his got 2nd. I met him last year at the circuit of Americas track in Austin. one thing I noticed when watching it on TV was that right before the went to a commercial break they would switch to the C7R and have its thundering V8 sound in the background. It was a wonderful time watching it and I cant wait for next year.

Thanks for the article John. Great to hear that Schumacher is out of his coma. Best wishes to him and his family on his road to recover.

I didn’t get a chance to watch any of the Le Mans but from some of the highlights I saw it looked to be a good one. Nice to see Porsche back in the action. I would have to agree with previous posts that for an endurance race you definitely need reliability, way to go Audi.

missed the hopper, got a phone call monday night, Le Mans week, did i want 2 tickets, inc campsite, including eurotunnel for my car, including whole weeks admission, and free transport to indianapolis/arnage saturday night during the race, leaving tues morning? uh, yeah. so could you re run the hopper? :)))))) t’was an awesome week i tells yer.

I didn’t think I’d enjoy racing on the same track continuously for over 2 hours, but it turned out to be pretty fun. Most of the griefers left, though there were still people out there who just has to pass you no matter the risk. I was able to finish in 3rd in my Risi Competizione F458 Italia. Gonna try for this weekend’s race too.

I recently participated in the 2.4 hours of Le Mans race as well. It took me about 5 minutes to find a lobby that wasn’t yet in session, and when I did find a lobby that hadn’t started, I was allocated R class and didn’t have an eligible car. Upon realizing this I bought an Aston Martin DBR 9, and I was ready to race.

Forza 5 is my first Forza title and this is the first endurance race I’ve taken part in. I was new to the idea of actual, simulated damage, and another car from the P class hit me hard on one of the turns. My car’s transmission, handling and braking were damaged severely.

Unfortunately, I was also new to the concept of pitting and it took me about 20 minutes to make my first pit stop. (Yes, 20 minutes to back in to the pits. It’s so simple now that I’ve done it!) After that first pit stop, there was about an hour and twenty minutes left to race, and I had only covered about one hundred miles. I was very concerned I wasn’t going to get the achievement, so I raced non-stop for the remainder of the race. The majority of the cars had either already gotten the achievement or were satisfied with their positioning and quit. I ended up finishing 2nd and I raced a total of 295 miles. (Turns out I needn’t have worried!)

Bottom line, I was satisfied with my performance and the way that the races were conducted. Another fantastic job by the Forza Motorsport team!

I can’t wait to race The Ring tomorrow and I hope you guys can’t wait either.

Great article once again i look forward to reading you aritcles all the time and i’d love to go around a track in that CORVETTE it be would be awsome thanks again

I would race in the 2.4 hours of Le Mans race, but I don’t have an xbox one to play FM5. Also, I am always busy with something. I am lucky if I get even an hour of free time nowadays let alone 2.4 hours

I haven’t participated in a 2.4 hours of Le Mans yet, but I love to drive the Le Mans track in Forza 4 with the Audis and Orecas. I also always follow the 24 hour race in real life. So many thrilling scenes and as an extra goodie many good Swiss drivers like Fässler or Buemi
Great article as always.

Hello John!

Unfortunately I could not make it to the latest lobbies of the 2.4 hours of LeMans, as I was stuck at work (bummer). I did participate in a little make-up session with my club, however. Ended up being a good matchup since we all have drifting backgrounds and aren’t as well trained in the art of blistering through a course. I was in the 787b myself and had a fun little 3-way battle in the R1 class. I missed a big chunk of the actual race itself, so I had to touch base on the parts that I missed.

Hello to all the Forza forum I was kind of missing here due to the fact that moving house and a time without internet, but as I was anxious to get back to comment here, then come back, soon. About the 24 Hours of Le Mans I always watch possible, I really like running prototypes and father too and we watched it together, I always root for the Audi, because I love their prototypes as the R18 and R10 and whenever I could ran a few races in the series 24 hours of other games and some “endurances” in Forza own, so I always had a lot of interest in this matter and I am glad to see that there are other people with the same interest.

It’s been a while since I posted, but here goes…
I thought the racing at Le Mans was great this year, across all classes. I was a bit gutted to see the #20 Porsche 919 have to retire so close to the end of the race though, but the drama with the lead Audi’s turbo problem certainly livened up the latter stages of the race. The duel between the Aston, Ferrari, and Corvette in GTE-Pro was also very interesting, that fight only really died down in the last two hours or so, and any one of them was in with a shout of winning. And seeing the Danish crewed Aston Martin in GTE-Am claim victory was really good, especially when you consider what that team had to go through in the wake of last years fairly tragic race. I also watched the Nurburgring 24 Hours last weekend, which again was equally enthralling - there’s just something about endurance racing that pulls you into it, and fortunately the 24 Hours of Spa is just next month!

The 2.4 Hours of Le Mans in Forza is a very nice event. Since they removed the endurance races that was present in Forza 3 single-player, this is pretty much the place to go for some long distance driving. And the competition is usually very good, most of your opponents race clean and fair. I guess the fact that it is so long turns the would be griefers away. I usually like to run with one of the two Aston DBR9’s, or the Ferrari 458 GT2. Occasionally I’ll be tempted by a prototype, usually the R18, but their engine note is just no match for the petrol powered GT2 machines. Still though, I have yet to win one of these races with more than two people in the lobby :stuck_out_tongue:

My GT is xKillaPineapple - I wouldn’t mind a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale in Forza 4 if you want to throw one my way
