Can we please have a credit-loss given to people rage-quitting? I drive on a wheel, no assists, no race-line. This means for me that I am not very competetive. If I can finish mid-field that’s a good result, anything higher is great. I know I could make my racing easier, but I enjoy the feel of these settings. It is however very annoying that people that I pass will rage-quit, as for some reason I am to blame for them missing braking points or spinning out. I miss my brake points and I spin out too, but i continue racing. Because it’s fun! I know this rant wouldn’t change things, but rage-quitters are the scum of the earth.
That’s a very odd demand. In what why does it hurt you, when someone else quits (for whatever the reason; one reason is the constant game crashing)? They don’t get CR anyway, if they quit.
Same is with AFK players and complaints about them. They don’t hurt anybody by letting the AI do the XP collecting.
Giving them free stuff won’t stop them from complaining, and if that is all they really want, then I would posit that they don’t really care about the game at all, and only care about themselves.
Not sure they deserve more than those of us trying to be constructive and help.
Because I don’t get to race with people my level. If all the people that drive as badly as me rage-quit all the time (no doubt because their feeble egos can’t handle a loss), there is no-one for me to compete against. Are you actually defending rage-quitting?
I don’t think they are defending rage quitting - they like me see no use in trying to get these people to stay if they are unhappy. I prefer they stay and try to help change the game for the better, but I also want that to be constructive (it has to be really).
I would agree, other than lobbies with less people but far more engaged racers the trade off is more racers and lower quality racing.
I know which one I want.
I guess that’s a fair point. It’s too bad we have a culture in which people can’t stnd having their power-fantasy removed.
If I would want to leave mid rave, I will leave and getting no rewards and loosing progression (depends of race type) for it is punishment enough. It’s that simple. Like I already said, there are n+1 reasons for someone dropping out of race. The main reason why fewer and fewer people play this game, is not because some self-entitled “hot-shot” with no assists passed them (unless you ram them out, then rage quitting is rather logical step), but because the game has tons of issues. If you really think that you can’t race with people on your level, then rage quitting has nothing to do with it. You should direct your worries to T10 and their poor MP matchmaking.
Out of those times I have played MP races I really have no complaints about the lack of players.
Hold your horses and ease your temper, sir. I just said I am no hot-shot, I just like to drive with no assists because it gives me more road-feel. You don’t have to tangle yourself all into knots because I made a suggestion? Also I do have a safety rating S and don’t have the habit of ramming people. If people ram me, I get my car back on track and try again.
The assumption of other quitting because of you pass them and then bragging about not using assists (which is irrelevant in this discussion - why even bring that in?!) and demanding CR deduction for other players did make an expression of a self-entitlement.
You play the game in a way you want and others will play in their own way (unless they do something against TOS and then you will report them, if are willing to go through that cumbersome reporting system). Besides, this here isn’t a sub-forum for suggestions.
And how would the game differentiate if the player quits because of rage vs because the game crashed or a power outage, etc.?
They are speaking in the sense that people are upset and leaving the game, demanding refunds and compensation, etc. OP wants T10 to “give them compensation” to keep them from quitting if it will help get people that have quit back and keep others from also quitting. OP thinks this will make the quality of the game better and or, solve the issues the players who are quitting have.
I don’t think there is a lot of support for this idea, although I do understand what OP is on about.
I don’t want people unhappy, and quitting. At the same time, I want people who want to be part of the solution and that takes work… tearing down, raising to the ground, that’s easy. Changing things is hard.
Hope is hard.
Yeah, I stole that from a TV show, but it’s true.
Again, how would you, or anyone for that matter, know the reason someone quit the game? Unless they explicitly state “I’m rage quitting”. Otherwise, maybe their dinner is ready , or they had a power outage. Any number of things could be the reason.
Assuming people who quit the game are doing so out of rage or frustration is ridiculous.
Have you literally not read every other topic in this forum?
Have you not seen the ratings on Steam and MS store?
People are CLEARLY quitting this game over the problems it has and you’re telling the rest of us we don’t know what we’re talking about? I think you’re being a little too literal with the idea that every time someone leaves the game its a rage quit and that is what OP was talking about - that wasn’t exactly what they meant… poor wording maybe.
I have played countless online shooters and racers. It’s extremely rare that I have left a game because a game crashed or there was a power-outage. I can’t say that I have a ton of scientific evidence, but I do make the assumption that 24 out of 25 times a player leaves the race, it’s a rage quit.
I’m sorry that it came off as bragging. I wrote that I don’t use assists because I have been attacked here before because of my apparent lack of skill.
What’s done is done. No need to apologize.
Sincere, although quite heated, discussions are good as well.
Ok, thank you. And all I’m saying is it’s ridiculous to assume that, because you don’t know every player’s situation or why exactly they are quitting.
Just because you have played games a certain way or avoided doing things a certain way doesn’t necessarily mean everyone else is the same exact way.
We can disagree, that’s fine. I have no other arguments about this “rage-quit” topic, though, just wanted to point out it’s not always safe to assume why people do the things they do. ![]()
With the game not stable in any platform how can you know if someone is ragequitting?
No body really cares if people rage quit in racing games. Bungie/343 tied to enforce punishment on rage quitters and it didnt go so well for them and just cost them tons of players as their enforcement couldn’t tell the difference between rage quitting and quitting due to bad connections etc. Destiny has also lost alot of players because of bungies attempts at stopping people from quitting mid match. Now we just make fun of companies like 343/bungie that try to be slick thinking they will prevent people from quitting by issuing less rewards or temp bans etc. Quitting literally has zero effect on others in racing games.
It seems people are defending the rage quitting?
