I think the simple answer would be racing & hotlapping are all about being the quickest or going the quickest you can around a particular track.
Drifting is just another sort of discipline, not the quickest way to complete a lap but just a different form of driving with different aims.
Most of my forza friends are either artists or tuner/ racers, so I’ve spent most of my time doing that over the years. I’ve tried drifting, particularly in rivals and the old community bounty hunter days but never really clicked with it. Maybe if more of my friends had been in to it, I’d have put more effort in to try and learn but as it is, I enjoy trying to go that teensy bit faster than I have done before and always count a PB as a small personal victory (wherever I place in the race lol).
Yeah good point but tandem drifting, is about nearly the same thing circuit racing is, being super fast, nice clean lines, and being smooth as possible aswell, so circuit and tandem drifting is alot more similar than you think, in my opinion atleast.
Ultimately it will be slower though than someone just trying to drive the track.
It’s like horse racing and showjumping both involve horses but different skill sets/ ethos required. I have nothing against drifting in real life of forza, it can be a great spectacle to watch and fun to try and do lol. I guess I spend more time painting than anything else., so when I do get to spend time on track, I do what I know best, which is to drive fairly quickly and try to go quicker than I did last time.
It’s one of the reasons why forza is great though, that it allows people to play the way they want to play and encourages diversity.
I agree with the horse racing stuff, and different skills and circuit being faster then drifting at the end of the day. I enjoy circuit racing but just like you im better at what i do so i stick to it and what i know. Im a decent forza player all around but drifting is my personal strong hold.
I definitely wouldn’t say it’s boring. I have nothing against it, it’s just not for me. I do watch it from time to time. Same thing with drag racing. I like it and watch it, I just have no interest in doing it.
It’s definitely a whole new aspect to handling the car. I admittedly cannot drift to save my life, so I avoid it
it takes some talent to do some of the more extravagant stuff I’ve seen, but the ego in the drift camp is on par with if not higher than that of racers from what I’ve seen!
The circuit guys i seen an talked to like team faa and heeltoehero is pretty chill. Most of the divas are gone but there is always that “one guy” in the lobby you know? Lol
I started this game drag racing because I did that in real life, got very heavy into it then started points drifting about 6 months ago with a club close to me, I would say I am mediocre on drifting which is why I haven’t tried tandom drifting, my luck I would continually wipe out the person next to me. Despite my poor drifting skill I enjoy it.
Thats all that matters that your having fun with it…if you want i can shoot some tunes your way and after a week or 2 the feel of following people and tandeming should come natural after that
Ok a little tutoring would help, will send a FR
cipher
have a good-n
You to bro
ive focused on both drifting and circuit racing at different points in time. i was the leader of a drift team on forza three and been drifting with some of the best on forza 4. and on the circuit side of the spectrum ive been on a couple great race teams. the point is i find both very enjoyable, when you dont see me circuit racing, im usually drifting. so it usually comes with preference as long as you enjoy it.
