Im fairly new to the Forza series (level56-FM4), but better late than never, I have a few questions.
-
Why are some vehicles in the auction house up for so much credit? I often see 1,000,000cr, cars being sold for like 59,500,000cr.
-
What are some of the better resources out there for Forza player besides this forum?
I have been searching for some footage of fast laps by a pro and cant find any.
-
Whats it mean when someone says “no unlocks or will unlock for cr” in the storefront.
-
Are there still race clubs? and what is the benefit of being in a club? how do I join one?
-
How much better was the storefront and online part of the game during the first few years it came out?
I never had a chance to give Forza a try through college it was more about COD and NHL but after a few months of driving learning the tracks and cars Ive become pretty invested in the game and can confidently say its my favorite all time, really glad I brushed the dust off it and gave it a chance late in the 360 life.
If anyone would like to donate some Cr to my SestoElemento fund it would be much appreciated
Thanks

Sometimes people are transferring CR. Most of the time it’s just people hoping that someone with too much money will decide to buy it. No real point behind it, but people do it…

Can’t really help you much there unfortunately… The forums got a lot of great resources, but you’ll have to do a lot of searching. If you want replays you can find a lot in rivals mode. If you want generic leaderboard runs you can go to community, leaderboards, circuit, whatever class and track you want, and then select any player from the list. They’ll usually have a replay available for viewing, and if so it’ll be indicated as such by a sort of paper clip looking symbol on the right side of the list.

People will sometimes offer to gift the “unlocked” version of a paint or tune to another player for a fee. The unlocked version is just a version which can be modified like normal, as if a friend had gifted you a paint/tune of theirs. It’s a high value business selling your stuff unlocked, but you’ll lose the rights to it and it’s likely to get resold as someone else’s work.

Most teams have moved onto FM5, but a few are still active on FM4. I know the HLR gents still run the public lobbies occasionally… If you wanna join a car club just go to the community area, go to car clubs, view the car club list, select any car club and message the leader asking to join as well as send a request to join through the game’s system. The real serious hotlapping clubs aren’t worth getting into; they usually take the game way too seriously.

The online is mostly dead now sadly. Decent private lobbies still show up at times, but they’re getting more scarce. The storefront’s always been the same. That isn’t likely to die of anytime soon…
Shoot me a friend request on XBL and I’ll send you a Sesto. I’ve still got a little bit of money left, so why not?

Just to expand on question four, the biggest advantage of the clubs is the club garage. All members can share cars in the club garage, which any other member can then use in races. Only the original owner can modify the car in any way, so when using a car from the garage it must be driven as is.
And on the “unlocks” be careful, very very very careful. Some cheaters/hackers like to entice people into “trading” or “buying” unlocked Vinyls and Designs. What they fail to mention is those are stolen, they didn’t create them, and they shall garner you a ban from the game for attempting to sell them.
The safest way is never trade/buy anything unlocked, and only sell what you yourself create. I’ll double guarantee you a ban if you attempt to sell something for which you don’t have authorization to be doing from the original artist.

Big thanks to all of you guys !
Once you get into the game its fantastic. There are a ton of things to do and most of them are spawned out of what you and some friends come up with. A few friends of mine were looking to keep racing as only one of us got a X1 so we came up with a challenge series. We would take the race cars and put them on a given track (we tried to keep them one they would actually be on) and then tuned them with no upgrades (other then race brakes because, race car) Once we get a few more done we are going to start the series and using pro diffaculty and max AI run the races and see who comes out on top as the best all around driver.
Forza (all the games) is one of those games where you can pick it up and jump right in and just mess around. You can put it down for a while too and then you always seem to come back to it because of how great it is to run the cars. Feel free to hit me up in Live if you want to run some laps.
If you need any cars for Forza 4 I can help you out. Message me any cars you might want and I will sort you out.
