When you buy a car, for example, the lotus, is it pre-tuned in any way?
Or do you have to tune it to extract its potential?
It goes like a bat out of hell as is.
I like to do laps on spa and Prague and do fine without any changes to the car. If you do tune the car, does it no longer allow you to put up times on the leaderboard now that the car is different from stock?
Finally, if you do tune it, can it be reverted to stock?
It’s a stock car when you buy them. Granted some cars are race cars so they have a bit of a set up on them.
Putting a tune on a car can help it or hurt it. It just depends on how you tune it.
The times will still be posted no matter how you run the car.
Yes you can remove the tune later if you wish.
Purpose of tuning a car is to make it suit your driving style.
You can extract little more out of the cars if you tune it CORRECTLY but one can be reasonably competitive with the default stock tunes. Certainly top 1000 on LB.
I would say there are a few cars that work fairly well from a tuning perspective out of the box, but in most cases I would say this is not true. As a tuner myself, I still have much to learn about tuning but have come a ways so far. I have a few top 100 times and it takes a great deal of tuning and parts swapping to make it in the top 25.
All times for whatever class you run in Rivals, Single player, and multiplayer count on the leaderboard. You can be at 501 or 600 and it counts in the same class of car.
You can save your tune, load other peoples tunes and reset to default at any time in the tune/upgrade section.
Best of luck.
