When will we get this feature in forza? Put a little tape on the grill and make more HORSIEEES!!! It’s kind of hard to see.

It’s not for adding horsepower but they do that for downforce. A car has to breath to get max horsepower so if a whole lot of tape is on there I would figure it would lose power and the engine would lose some cooling that way.

Along with the down-force boost, you do get a HP boost in some cases. With the proper amount of tape, the engine can be made to run closer to optimum temperature, thus burning fuel more effectively. Do it too much and you blow the engine though.

But that’s why it’s not uncommon to see them heavily tape a car for qualifying, haul around the track hard, then shut the engine down has soon has they can. They’re basically pushing the engine temp up, getting the boost to both down-force and HP, but doing so at the risk of blowing the engine. The same amount of tape would kill the car under full race conditions.

It is a bit of a balancing act though. There is an optimum temp for running the engine. Heating it up too much, and you do start losing the bonus HP, not to mention greatly shortening engine life… You’ll sometimes see them adjust for this during a race by removing a bit of tape, or adding some on, depending if they want to tweak the cooling for hotter or colder.

Its taken t10 to fix this game as much as they have so far…so I hardly think they will add a buy 1 or 2 rolls of duck tape upgrade

Once in Formula 3 at the start of a race, Ayrton Senna taped the sidepods of his car, which in turn got up to temperature quicker and then on the straight, he leaned out of his car and tore the tape off. For the first lap he had more power than everyone else due to his engine heating up quicker.

I taped up my vent holes on my xbox one and man am i fast now.

Only for two laps, then your X1 will blow, splattering scalding hot thermal paste all over your living room.

get the forza spoiler and wing. its adjustable so you can get the same effect without over heating. in nascar the splitter and rear wing are fixed so the tape is a workaround for not haveing adjustable parts.
