I was doing some hotlapping today in C class and I’m generally about 2 to 3 seconds off the pace of the leaders, but after tuning my car to get the most out of it, I was still running a good 5 seconds off the pace on the Airfield test track. So I went into the leaderboards and viewed the #1 replay and noticed they took the outside tunnel instead of the inside tunnel and noticed it didn’t dirty the lap. What is the proper way around the track? If it is the way I’m taking, I’ll just compare myself to the fastest time taking the right way. Cheers!
the fastest way clean is the proper way- fastest way.
pretty sure the outside is the fastest way in every class. they are both the, “proper,” way around-- there are two ways.
Thanks for the replies. I’ll try running the outside tunnel and see if I can come closer to the top times. Cheers!
one more thing: i only really tried to set a good time on that track in R class, in my 312. don’t know if it’s like this in the lower classes, but in the high classes with super low cars, that bump right before the light poles is a royal pain. i found the right side was a bit smoother so i was able to go right through there, then work my way left through the light poles, then take the left tunnel.
I had the same issue as the OP,
I usually only go towards beating people on my FL and in class R I didnt have any problem setting a better time, but in P-class I just couldnt be beat my fastest friend, so I chose his ghost and saw took the outer tunnel, lol
And yes super low cars can be hard to get a clean lap with on the test track
For me right side of light poles over the bump, immediately left around the island and then through the left tinnel…cleanest fastest way as staying left over the first bump dirtys my lap every time.
