Proper Racing Etiquette

Try telling them that. No matter how clean you race there’s always one noob who does it, only thing you can do is report them or go to a different lobby if it bothers you alot.

A turn? How about the idiots that try to run you off of the road in the straights! I have probably blocked and reported over 100 players since I started this game last November. I hate these guys so much and there seems to be an endless supply of them.

There is a difference between acting like a jerk and racing aggressively. I drive aggressively when racing and try to make as little contact as possible. Considering that some tracks are narrow as well as the fact that a lot of driveatars like hitting the contact part is harder than you think.

Drag racing is always a hassle. People try to push you out of the course if you are gaining on them, and will try to pit you. I have pretty much stopped trying to race online roadtrips in the game because it is always a bunch of unskilled drivers trying to race in S2s. I whip out the stock agera (i swear that car is op on asphalt) and get rammed or worse. The problem is that there are no real-world consequences for their actions in the game. The only thing to do is to leave and report.

I’ll keep my opinion short:
In my opinion, EXcluding playground games, the aim should be to race with the minimum amount of contact. No deliberate contact. I believe the same etiquette should be used for horizon as motorsport. As for playground games though, anything goes!

I don’t know if AWD is so much a crutch with this edition of Horizon as much as AWD caters to the tracks and map so much better. Conversely, FM4–I thought RWD was the way to go. I haven’t got a chance to pick up Motorsport6. Cutting corners–I am with you for the most part. When I see a clear path between checkpoints that will give me an advantage I am going to take it.

I’m usually the player which is calm, considerate and fair towards others. But, that’s where ramming me off the track on purpose changes that.

I mean, I’m sorry that on the occasion the car chosen is a bit quicker but no need to be sour about it and ram into a player like a puss. I’ll give a nudge back just as a (slightly childish) gesture that being a dick isn’t amusing. Failing that, I’ll just set races to ‘collisions off’ in future.
