Pro vs. Unbeatable Drivatars in Career

Does anyone else get 1st by 40 car lengths on Pro but barely 5th place on Unbeatable?

This isn’t the case for my entire career, but it’s a common thing for me. I’ve gotten gold on Unbeatable only a handful of times.

It just seems the gap between Pro and Unbeatable is weirdly large. Pro is not hard enough for me, but Unbeatable is mostly too hard like the cars in front have jet packs when they make a mistake. Is that some form of ketchup?

It’s interesting that the difficulty you want is between existing difficulties. I will post something in the game feature wishlist thread to cover this.

Thanks, I appreciate that! We could call it Elite or Seasoned Veteran

I get 1st even in unbeatable. I know many others that do also.

It depends on how quickly I manage to overtake the field on the first lap, but if I race in free-play where I starts further up the field, I win easily against unbeatable, and I do not consider myself to be a particularly fast driver.

I’ve never had less than gold against unbeatable drivatars. its all about that first lap. if u can’t catch em in the first lap, theres a good chance u won’t catch em at all.

I find on unbeatable the 1st place car is miles ahead every single race meaning i come 2nd in every race bar on Prague which for some reason i win by a massive difference. T10 need to tighten up the AI so they are not so far apart…last place to first place is far to much for 2 laps you would expect the difference to be that huge after 20 laps rather than 2.

It all depends on the track/race type (and of course, your own car) from what I’ve seen. Unbeatable is super easy on tracks like Bathurst where they put you in the middle of the grid. Same with “Chase” and Beat the Stig events where you’re right on top of one or two opponents. Tracks like Sebring, Spa and Laguna Seca though can be a bit more tricky if you don’t have a decently built car and you spend too much time fighting through traffic. As MechanixX said, get by as many as you can the first lap and it’s way less of a struggle!

I’ve found in this rendition of forza it’s more chase the rabbit than racing, there is no pack racing this time round.

I feel the harder the difficulty just puts the two lead cars further ahead, also two laps as said many many times now is just not enough for most players to be a challenge for the lead cars especially when starting at the end of the grid.

Personally I think the racecraft needs a complete rethink.

Yup. I tried Unbeatable for a while to go for the zero Gamerscore achievement, but gave up after being lucky to get fourth through a number of races - the top three or four seem to be driving cars a couple of classes higher than mine. And I don’t need the extra 15% XP at this point, so meh.

Lots of good insight. I’ve been wanting to do more free race but I want to finish the career first. More laps or less cars on certain tracks (Long Beach) could also help.

But I really think it’s a ketchup thing. The two front cars seem to have jet packs because when they make mistakes like go off the road or hit the wall, they boost back into their line.

I find the AI difficulty very different from free play to career. I only race production spec cars (no upgrades) and in career it always seems like the AI are sometimes even 2 classes above me, yet when I race them in free play I destroy them even in unbeatable. Career is nigh impossible to gold with any cars except top of class or upgraded to top of class, and that goes for even below average AI with a lot of cars.

From what I’ve experienced, the AI takes advantage of the rubber-band effect. If I’m behind (on Unbeatable) I catch up really quick, but then the AI is on my tail the whole time, regardless if my laps are slow or fast. I did two races around Laguna Seca, both on Unbeatable, only I was 4 seconds slower per lap on my second go. Both times, the AI was on my @ss the whole race. Rubber band effect right there.

No, I think they added mustard or pickles to unbeatable AI.

Just started playing unbeatable this past week. One of the first things I noticed was the huge skill gap from pro to unbeatable. I can get 3rd and sometimes 2nd every race and rarely 1st. I have a ton more fun on unbeatable though.
