Prize Spins - When they become oh so pointless

OK, that’s just nuts. I dunno how anyone can…nevermind. Although, I can see why someone may be bored with all these credits if they’ve already spent that much time playing the game. I mean, getting to level 1,000+? I don’t know if there’s any game, anywhere this side of MMORPGS that can hold someone’s attention that long without their getting bored.

But I digress.

I agree 100% with Outlier; in fact, what he says is pretty much exactly what I’ve been doing. I had 20 mil to start with thanks to the garage loyalty bonuses (plus the VIP bonus cars and DLC), but since then, there’s been very little shortcutting for me; I’ve done 30 of 60 possible spins (plus those random Bonus Spins that pop up and I can’t seem to avoid), and I’ve been going through every race, in every Story of Motorsport, with the occasional sojurn into the Showcase events. That means that while I could afford–and indeed, already own–some of the highest-level machinery the game offers, I won’t be touching it in career mode for quite some time, now.

If I need the occasional rush, I’ll hit up Free Play and take a rented 312 on Rio (LOVE that track) or something.

Jeez, he must of forgotten what outside looks like lol

“Outside” is just a mythical place full of frost, snow and scary things

From the avatar, I think the OP is a girl… Which, if true, is just cool.

Remember when F5 was released and it was incredibly difficult to obtain cars, and now it’s too easy. The devs must just shake their head.

It’s credits. It’s prize spins. It’s all pointless. Get rid of it all. I don’t care.

I had a chance to win 25 million i think, at my level 200 prize spin. I won 10 million…pretty amazing

This is the reason i dont understand why people need to buy tokens
Credits are way too easy to get

Higher levels get higher level spins…even though they are pointless when at level there’s nothing else to use the credits for

Easy to level up too when using mod cards
Especially the +100% xp cards

Anyone try the ipad Real Racing game? I tried it. It was pretty fun, until I realized that you can’t progress to the next series because you don’t make enough in game credits to buy the next car. You have to either do some seriously boring grinding - and then do it again and again, or pay real money to progress. The game itself might have been fun if it wasn’t ruined by this really stingy economy. I guess that’s what you get with a “freemium” game.

So yeah, I’d rather keep what we have now in Forza since we are paying full AAA pricing for each release. Like most of you, I also have tons of money and nothing really I want to buy wit it. But that’s a good problem to have. I can race whatever I want whenever at this point.

There is no online economy anymore so I’m thinking that if you are the type that would rather have a difficult progression and really earn every car, you can simply not collect wheel spins or collect any rewards from the Forza Hub. Since we can’t buy or sell cars in auction house and money is not really changing hands, it doesn’t hurt anyone if they wish to make money a bit slower.

Huge agreement with Outlier… I’ve played racing games in teh past that restricted me from driving and/or owning whatever car I wanted until I laboriously made my way through countless challenges or race series. My thinking was, ‘eh, I paid good money for this game, and I paid to drive whatever car I want. Why do I have to struggle for the privilege of driving whatever, whenever? That should be a right. Why do I have to play the game the way you want me to?’

So, I think the way Turn 10 has done it is pretty fair. You can rent anything at anytime. But you can quickly earn or be given credits so you can buy any car in the game and put it in your garage. That’s the whole point of having 400-600 cars in a game, to drive them. Like Outlier said, if you don’t want the ‘burden’ of having tons of extra money, don’t redeem your spins. Simple.

I admit I’m just a big kid at heart.
I like the prize spins, I like having enough credits to buy cars without having to “scrimp & save,” though I do understand others feel differently about this & respect that.

Think I became enamored of the spin during my early (joyous!) Horizon 2 days & never looked back. Would I stop playing FM6 if they took spins away? No, but I would miss 'em.
Bottom line is…I bought FM6 to drive & paint cars. If spins help me enjoy adding more variety in my garage, I say “Thanks, Turn10” and leave it at that.

Just my 5 cents…

Well i can tell you from the experience of my first save that there is chance to win 50mil on one. Think I got the 25 mil second prize for it!

Whatever the games economy I’m enjoying it - I agree more cash helps more people play the game the way they want to play it

Note to self - I need to get out more

I love the game, but don’t spend my life on it. I much prefer the high level spins and having the option to try out many different cars and tunes. I hate games that you purchase and then have to spend more real money to “upgrade” and get the full value of the game. If they are going to err I much rather they err on the side of generosity than stinginess.

This thread is proof that people will whine about anything.

Why don’t we complain now about Forza being the racing game with most amount of cars? I mean, who needs 500 cars right?
Seriously ppl, stop whining

This is part of why I miss gifting, the AH, etc. — so people who have piles and piles of cars, CR, etc. can give them to those that don’t.

I understand that some people have millions and millions of CR and have nothing to do with it. By God, if I could take it all from you (asking permission, of course), I would. I’m in the process of collecting one of every car in the game (save for duplicated racecars…I don’t need all ten Formula E cars, one is fine) alphabetically, and I’m on Lamborghini now. Ferrari was a huge hurdle when my prize spins netted me an average of 75K CR, and I was getting into buying cars that were millions a piece. While I can clearly see how someone who has all the cars they need doesn’t need upwards of 40 million credits or some other high number, some people do need quite a few, depending on what they do with them. I appreciate the larger spins right now. Once I have all the cars, I’ll no longer need the massive prizes, but I can at least take solace in that should things hit the fan, I got a lot of backup money.

Some advice for those that have mounds of credits: perhaps, buy some more cars. Not suggesting buy every car in the game (unless you want to), but maybe try a car that interests you a bit, even if you know it won’t be competitive. And if you’re absolutely sure that your garage is full of precisely everything you want and interests you, nothing less, then buy, remove, and re-buy a 250 GTO or something. Those credits might disappear faster than you think. Additionally, the DLC cars that come out for those with the Car Pass or buy the packs? Same process. Buy, remove, re-buy. You remove the “first car free” pricing, and that Ferrari 250LM in December’s (December’s? November’s? they’re starting to blend together for me) pack? 2,000,000 CR gone. It’ll be a slow and arduous process for those with hundreds of millions, but if it’s better for you to see 50,744 CR than 328,750,744 CR, then that’ll do it.

Edit: Lemme just add this in here quickly. For those that do have the bounties of CR, I’m not implying that you hate your CR and would much rather have the game be tougher on it. If you fit that bill, then you fit that bill. If you don’t, you can live your life normally.

If the original poster has as much stick time with the game as some suggest, the point is moot. I suspect the majority of Forza gamers who have not nearly as much time invested as this means the experience shown in the video is more an outlier than it is the norm.

We should all have such problems, but Boris is sitting on 1.6 billion and earning 5 million per level, it’s kinda like Bill Gates winning the lottery.

Way too little or way too much, it’s bad game design.

I like the generosity. I have no interest in having anything to do with trading with other or grinding for hours just to afford a tire upgrade. This is a racing game not a free market economy sim. Easy credit flow means access to cars, access to upgrades and not having to worry that you made a mistake. They removed the ability to sell upgrades back separately when going from street tires to sport tires and such, not having good credit flow makes those dead end purchases painful. Again I don’t need to simulate economies or barter or anything but getting cars upgrading and tuning and racing them. Do I have an excess of credits, sure and if you ask fabulously rich people they will tell you, money means freedom from worry and being able to enjoy your pursuits to the fullest.

I don’t know how I feel about it. At my very first 3 spins I won golden prizes (Bugatti Veyron and 2m CR), at first I thought it’s a little trick to satisfy the players, but then I realised this is how it is. It’s actually kinda predictable when to hit A button, which I didn’t know before, now I do and getting crappy prizes all the time. But buying the most expensive cars won’t make my difference because of class and car type restrictions, so, it’s not “freemium” or anytying.
I had to grind a bit in the beginning FM3 for some of the cars, it felt great and rewarding, I hoped the same for FM4, but they gave me millions of CR straight just for having FM3 lol Now playing Carrier mode, I’m obliged to purchase the most expensive car from the ones I need, with all that mohnee.

Offtopic: I do wish I could buy good music with all those CR…
