Seems XBox Live sign in is down right now and I cannot sign into my account when I start up the system.
If I’m not looking to play online, etc, is it possible to play without being signed in? When I start up Forza it asks me to sign in and when it fails it just goes to the start screen? Why isnt my account locally on the box so I can play the game without having to be signed in online? Is there a way?
Can you expand on this and explain how? I was not able to figure anything out until they got it fixed. Every time I started FM5 it asked me to sign in and if it failed it went back to the start screen. If I chose to close and not sign in, it went back to the start screen.
I’d like to know for the future if something were to happen again as more than 90% of my play is not online anyway.
That’s what mine was doing to me last night as well. I’ve played FM5 offline before when my internet connection was down or I carried my xbox to a friends house that didn’t have wireless but last night not matter what I did(I even went so far to disconnect my wireless completely) FM5 was stuck in a loop that would want me to sign into XBOX live and when I couldn’t it would loop back to the start screen and immediately pop up the sign in prompt.
If you sign into your profile before going into Forza I think there is a way to sign in but be not connected to internet. Then you should be able to start Forza normally as your already signed in. I think that’s how I’ve done it in the past.
The only thing I didnt try was disconnecting the wireless connection, maybe had I done that it would have worked. But like I said, it wouldnt let me do anything on XBox or FM without logging in, which couldnt happen, so my XBox was basically a brick the entire time they were having the issue.
You “should be” able to play offline without unplugging or disabling your Internet connection by going into Settings, and in the left-hand column at the bottom, make your select “My home Xbox.”
“When you designate a specific Xbox One as your home console, people can play your downloaded games without having to sign in as you. And with an Xbox Live Gold membership, your whole household can enjoy online gaming on the most advanced multiplayer network, from your home Xbox.” READ THE FULL INFORMATION!
When there is a sign in issue like what u had u will need to disconnect from the Internet to play. Once disconnected it will work just fine. Then after the sign in issue has been resolved just hook the Internet back up and sign in normally.
You actually have a save on your XB1 and a copy on the cloud - the game just seeks to use the most recent save - so yo can play while offline (we just went through the joys of having our internet/phone/pay TV changed as part of the NBN here in OZ so I have spent a lot of time lately without internet).
This is correct - only necessary with sign in issues but works in that case.
NOTE: See the phrase “downloaded games”? That would mean the digital versions of the games.
Now, from the Xbox One Facts information, this is stated: “Your Xbox One doesn’t need to be connected for you to enjoy offline features of games. In fact, you can take the Xbox One anywhere and play any disc-based Xbox One game on it. The only times you need an online connection are for initial set-up of Xbox One, and to get the latest system and title updates before you start playing some games.”
