I was just wondering about the Porsche EA and Ferrari Microsoft issue? I did search Porsche to find a thread like this, but it came up with wish lists.
Not sure you will get an absolutely correct answer here.
My guess is T10/MS either can not get the license to include Porsche or the asking price is too high.
Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t even bother approaching EA about doing another Porsche license for the first product on a new platform. They could be waiting until they have a much better grasp on developing in the XB1 before attempting to take on that expensive venture. However it’s all pure speculation. We don’t even know if the deal the did for FM4 might or might not apply to future FM release. If they do have permission I’d like to think they’d hold off on a Porsche pack until they could get scans of the 918 and maybe add a few more cars to the stable like the 928 or more of the classic race cars.
It has been stated that the FM4 deal was a one off - otherwise Eduardo’s answer is the best we have from the bits that T10 and other studios have said about the Porsche license.

I think this I the best answer we’re going to get from the community. Only T10 knows the fine details, and all they’ve said for sure is, “Sorry, no Porsche in FM5. :(” Well, they might not have actually used the frowny-face, but you get the gist.
It isn’t coming until they can get the license. It’s been gone over time and time again.
Yeah … we, as gamers, are just kinda stuck in the middle of all this licensing mumbo-jumbo. IMO, there’s no real clear cut answer to all this because you have 4 businesses (T10, EA, Porsche and Ferrari) all looking out for their own best interests. And who knows what may happen in the future as the licensing rights for these two brands have changed over time depending on who’s making the decisions when and what their mindset is. In the past, we’ve seen both brands in the same games … one or the other brand added as DLC to a game featuring the other brand … and one or the other brand totally excluded from some games. I think in some way, they’re all to blame for the situation and they’re all victims to the situation because it’s not all controlled by a single entity. Just the way it is …
Here is the best possible explanation of the situation regarding Porsche: no.
