Please remove freeroam rush from the events list

everyone I know who played horizon 3’s multiplayer extensively including myself really dislike this new forced event type. In the last game there used to be a fun, but meaningless, mostly break in between each race which you could decide what you wanted to do with it… you could do skills… and just wait for the timer… you could rush to the event as fast as possible… or you could go afk, to use the restroom or whatever it is that you want to do. Now it’s a stressful, not fun for most forced twice in each list event type. Please remove these from the speed lists, or at the very least put them into their own category, so the people that do enjoy them, the few there may be can do them while the rest of us race in peace.

p.s why did you guys take away the voting after each list… what’s up with you guys removing choice from the game… that was one of it’s best features.

What exactly is the difference?

In fh3, you could hit xp boards in between races and boost your way to first place. Or you could do nothing, and not even get the predetermined xp reward for reaching race in allotted time. And if someone got to race location before allotted time ran out, by a long ways, it cut the times short.

I swear people like to complain, for complaints sake.

In Freeroam Rush it more often than not makes sense to go offroad, which forces you to pick a car that cab do it. Without cutting the route, you’re pretty much screwed, so good luck using your RWD car with race tires.

Everyone did that in fh3 as well, if you didn’t, you wouldn’t make it to the race to even get full XP because once someone made it to race location, it started to cut the allotted time down to nothing.

It was more beneficial to just skill and xp board the entire time as opposed to actually heading to race location.

Lol,. He just explained that… With pretty valid points actually.

I guess the main difference comes down to what role driving to the event plays VS having an actual race with no checkpoints. As you put it, in FH3 you could either do something between the races or not do anything and just wait until the next one started. However, in FH4 it defeats the purpose of the playlist. When I join a ROAD RACING playlist, I’ll obviously choose a road racing car. The problem is that Freeroam Rush forces you to go offroad if you want to take the quickest route and from this point on it becomes a mess.

Another problem I have with Freedom Rush is that it just gives people one more reason to cut corners just for the sake of cutting it. It feels misplaced. I’m not saying it should go away, but in my opinion it should be moved to the Playground Games playlist.

I agree with OP. In H3 it was nice to have that break in between races to grab a drink, use the bathroom or to have fun flying around in your car driving like a maniac. I do get that a lot of times the next event was really far away so it could become overkill. I mainly raced on Blizzard Mountain so it was 4 miles max to the next race which was perfect for me. This new system with no downtime, no points and 2 of these forced free roam rushes counting as a real races is awful. Don’t care for it all.

In FH3 that’s where guys would boost their points. They would score more in free roam than the race. I always thought the solution would be to not make skill point affect the final standings, but what do I know. This is their solution.

I agree, the multiplayer is pretty broken at this point. Besides that it’s an amazing game. Why does every race have to be Team adventure? I haven’t talked to one person that enjoys the freeroam rush race, it’s terrible. Whoever picks the best line through the trees wins, cool. Last night I realized I would rather play solo I guess.

Yeah, freeroam rush is so stupid. It should not be included at least in the racing tab. It seems really dumb taking supercars offroad just to get that shortcut. This makes it easy to hit trees while the other team doesn’t and they win when your team wins every normal race. Freeroam rush takes ZERO skill.
