I didn’t “undermine” anything, bro. What I said is straight from Aaron Greenberg’s mouth. First word is those titles will be Series X only, with the possibility that they come to the Xbox One.
Emphasis on possibility. Not guarantee. If it doesn’t come to the One after all, don’t complain about broken promises.
Speaking historically, all Forza titles that have been launch titles for new consoles (as 2, 5, and 7 were) are viewed unfavorably over titles developed in a consoles midlife (1, 3, 4, and 6). Not holding my breath for this new one personally.
Also, I have had to purchase or replace/upgrade my current console 4 times in this generation. I can’t afford to continue the practice. Until I hear that the series X is the last hurrah for consoles and future upgrades will be software/mild hardware upgrades at minimal cost I will be on the sidelines. These systems are too expensive, too unreliable, and too frequently “upgraded” in such a way that requires me to purchase a new console.
I am forever hopeful and Have been playing Forza games a long time (still have the steelbook Forza 4 and all iterations of Forza games back to Forza 2). But because I have been here a long time it can be difficult to view this upcoming release any other way besides through my own biased view.
it is worth remembering that the game “The medium” also featured in its showcase trailer as available on the Xbox Series X and Windows Pc platforms. Today it is also available in pre-order on the Xbox One platform, even without any indication in the promotional trailer.
I guess that the launch delay is due to the game size for the Series X, considering that in the gamepass there is no Forza motorsport for the current generation of consoles. It would be very stupid to leave such an exclusive game on a console platform that has just been released. If Halo, which is a much bigger game than this, is supported for Xbox one, I see no reason why Forza motorsport should be out.
Let’s see what they say on the Forza Monthly live stream tmw. Hopefully we will find out a little more. Either way this game seems to be a year or more out.
He said “1-2 years” last year, which means that the first year is up already when the Series X launches. I am certain that there will be first party Series X exclusives next Christmas.
Lol well it seems like Microsoft is having to backpedal on the 1-2 year Xbox one compatibility. Doesn’t surprise me at all tbh being that I’m sure devs are ready to move onto the newer hardware.
I’m just gonna go ahead to assume FM is an Series X exclusive, and when it comes out late 2021 or whatever i’ll need to buy a Series X to play it.
it is frustrating as my Xbox one X “most powerful console ever” doesn’t seem very old at all, and still works great (don’t feel any need to upgrade).
i’ll just start putting $10 away every week until the FM release… However i be watching things very closely and if FM isn’t stacking up that budget may go to GT7 + Sony.
Turn10 and Microsoft are taking a risk there, but hopefully its an indication they are confident they can produce a better game,… there’s nothing like competition to bring innovation & progress
I think TBH they are focusing all their resources on developing the base game on Series X so that they have a good bunch of assets to work with. And then maybe they’ll port it over to the One-X.
Hi, so I’ve been really hyped for the next FM game and I feel like dropping 500$ or 300$ on a game that will most likely cost over 100$ is not that worth it so, does anybody know if it will be on the xbox one too?
Right, rumors and leaks right now suggest that there’s a build for FM8 on the Xbox One. Now, I can’t necessarily verify it myself, but it looks like the answer is “not gonna happen”.
But still, it has me worrying. With all the talk that last-gen considerations are now impeding progress in game development, what can we expect from the new Forza Motorsport reboot, now that an Xbox One version is possible?
It was already stated that the new Forza will only be playable on the next gen consoles. I haven’t seen anything official to refute that. They ran some tests a while back which were able to be played on the one, but it’s doubtful the final release will be.
It’s definitely best to assume FM8 will be next gen only, because as you said there’s nothing official to refute that. No point in getting carried away from rumours imo.
That said, I think Gran Turismo 7 was originally announced to be next gen only and ended up being cross gen.
i hope they don’t pull the same crap they did with horizon 2 and the 360/xb1 versions. after all the pre-orders and game release they let us know the 360 version did not include these features!!
Given the current situation with the difficulty of buying consoles (chip shortage, scalping) it is silly that T10 will not be releasing this game on Xbox One. So many people have been unable to buy the new consoles as a result of the issues I mentioned, and this will continue for a long time, and so a lot of people will be unable to play Forza Motorsport for a long time. I think that there should, at the very least, be an Xbox One release for Forza Motorsport, but potentially make it a limited time thing.
After the complete FAILURE that was Forza Horizon 2 on the X360, I agree with not releasing the NEW Motorsport on the old consoles!
The X360 version was so stripped down on features it was only done for a money grab. Because they keep the stripped down features a secret until after the release so that it would not effect sales!!
