The implement would be like the “pit Stop” only with a guide drive trough it. Or just a visual advice on the screen to take the Penalty lane. If you dont take it you can bring the Penalty Secs to the finish lines
I think the penalty line offers several benefits:
“Increased Suspense”, Penalties can keep the race exciting until the end.
" Closer Battles" : Leads to tighter competition for positions.
" Enhanced Fairness- : Promotes adherence to track limits and fair play.
4 - Strategic Depth- : Adds tactical decisions around managing penalties.
5 I- mproved Realism-: Mirrors real-world racing rules more closely.
6 -. * Better Race Dynamics- : Enhances the overall engagement and satisfaction of the race.
At Suzuka Circuit, specifically in the “Casino Triangle” chicane, there is a so-called “penalty line,” designed to penalize drivers who cut the corner or drive unsportingly.
Here’s how it works:
The … Casino Triangle chicane … is the last and sharpest turn of the Suzuka Circuit, often a hotspot for overtakes and mistakes.
If a driver “cuts” the corner, for example, by crossing the boundary line or leaving the racing line without following the track properly, they must drop back to avoid gaining an unfair advantage.
The “penalty line” marks the point up to which the driver must slow down to effectively serve their penalty for cutting the chicane.
This rule ensures that no one gains a time advantage from cutting the track and maintains fair competition.
I love the idea of having penalties served, with real time, during the race. For those causing problems, what do they care that they have 4+ seconds added at the finish? Allowed to carry on throughout the duration of the race being a menace basically. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten take out by the same driver multiple times in a race.
I do believe there needs to be an incentive to being a clean driver, but with the current penalty system dishing out unfair penalties this suggestion would likely cause even more issues than it solves. If they can sort that, this would be an awesome next step imo.
Exactly, penalties are a joke - not even a question. As you said people simply don’t care because they still finish on forward positions crashing multiple people out of a race. That is the biggest problem by far right now.
And I always said Forza needs on-track drive through penalties like GT so dirty drivers couldn’t even enjoy their illegitimate positions. Shuffle them down the grid where they belong, maybe they learn their lessons at some point.
The problem I see with these physical penalty boxes in this Suzuka example picture, you may lose a second - if even that.
And can you imagine the guy serving a penalty rejoining the track? I don’t think he is going to care for traffic.
