My computer fixed itself this morning. Windows decided to download two more updates and I double checked my gpu driver, which did have a new update available from December (auto update apparently didnt work). After a bunch of downloading, installing and rebooting, my copy of FM7 is now running stutter free again.
I got massive FPS drops to 40 or even 23 FPS after NVIDIA 417.71 Update. Settings are high with a lock at 60 FPS. G1 Gaming 1060 6GB. After restarting the Race everything is fine, but that kills my multiplayer stats
UPDATE: I just noticed that the Desktop window Manager has a high GPU Usage (about 49%,) while the game is stucked at 29 %. If i cklick around top some other windows. get back to the Game the Problem is solved. BTW 2 monitor setup. Game in window mode.
Removing AVG antivirus solved the issue so that was definitely the problem for me. Just running defender & Malwarebytes from now on. Every free AV I’ve researched causes some sort of problem in one way or another.
As stated by many, uninstall your Antivirus and try it that way. Worked for me.
I experienced stuttering too and I found out that it was due to installation on an ExFAT drive.
Once formatted in NTFS there was no issue anymore.
To all of you having stuttering problems i can say I FOUND MY SOLUTION to the problem by changing the affinity to the process:
- while in game open task manager (press simoultaneously Ctrl, Alt, Canc on the keyboard)
- go to “DETAILS” menu
- find the forzamotorsport7.exe
- rightclick on it
- set affinity:
in my case (i5 6600 gtx 1070 16 gb ddr4 ram) I have 4 cores CPU and i had to enable only CPU 1 and CPU3 (alternate) to solve the problem bu still had stutters after a long while… - the very best setting was to enable CPU1, CPU2 and CPU3!!!

SO TRY CHANGING AFFINITY AS I WROTE AND FIND YOUR BEST SETTING: my best setting was to lleave
unabled CPU 0 and enabled CPU1, CPU2 and CPU3!!!
Still didn’t try uninstalling AVG antivirus…
it’s not up to me to solve the problem, it’s up to Microsoft and turn10!

Same decided to play the game after few month and it lag.
since I bought I always had issue with it. I am really tired to have to try to solve issue all the time. There is no more pleasure anymore. Why should I unistall my antivirus to play a game, I didnt try yet this as some people advice but it doesnt make any sense
if the developper read the forum give us a fix please
As I can tell the Windows Desktop manager causes heavy GPU Load @ my system. If I click into another window an then resume to the Game everything is fine again. But I haven’t found the reason for this behavior.
