Hey all,
I have both xbox one and pc version of forza 7, i was curious of how forza 7 looked on my pc and tried multiplayer but i kept getting failed to acquire server data.
So my first guess was the terodo tunneling, i used the xbox app on my pc and noticed it initially it said my terrodo was blocked, i checked device manager and removed npcap driver and used the netsh command to be sure and rebooted pc. I then noticed the i had another error but network type was strict and multiplayer connection in xbox app said blocked. So logged in to my router and added the xbox live trigger ports (Xbox Support) i was lazzy so did not diffrentiate between tcp / udp and just selected both. Checked xbox app network settings again and now it said nat type “medium” but multiplayer still blocked.
I did a google search and came accross a post on reddit post from N3er0O
he basically said this:
in dutch windows versions the service name is diffrent for the xbox live networking service, “its called networkservice van xbox live” so i just restarted those 2 services (even though they were already running) checked the xbox app and it did not give me any errors anymore under network settings. Fired up forza 7 and hello multiplayer was working find and the failed to acquire server data error did not occur anymore.
so i thought i’d share this.
Basically you need to check if your firewall / antivirus / vpn is not interfering with terrodo tunneling and make sure terrodo works, then you might need to something about the strict nat type by adding the trigger ports to your router, then if you still have problems just restart those 2 servers while always checking your connection status using the xbox app network settings testing
