Attention racers,
Event 18 is over, and here are the abridged results:
Full results and more on the event sheet.
PHLS#19 officially starts now, with some 80s touring silhouette cars of the GTX division.
A “silhouette” is a shell of plastic, carbon fiber or fiberglass, usually made to resemble a production model. This allows the mechanical underpinnings to be completely different and purposefully built for racing, while giving car manufacturers an alibi to make some publicity. It’s also generally cheaper since you don’t have to develop a whole car, and it reduces the amount of debris left on track after a collision.
Current series that use silhouette cars include NASCAR, WRC, DTM, and Super GT.
See the list of eligible cars and more details up in the top post.
As a reminder for those who might have missed, after a bit of maintenance of the magic robot, it now accepts a new, hopefully improved, format for submission, which looks like this:
PHLS#19
Buick#1:23.456
or this:
PHLS#19
3316#1:23.456
Instead of using separate CAR# and TIME# markers, you have a single marker, with the ordinal or identifier on the left side, and the time on the right side.
The ordinal/identifier must still be valid (see the top post for the list for the active event), the time must still be valid (same format as before). Pictures are still required. You post must still contain the PHLS# marker with the event number.
You can use the old format if you prefer.
