Patate Hot Lap Series

Attention racers,

Event 3 is over, the results are in, and it seems the Porsches have won. Some of you predicted that outcome, and I’d like to award a bonus style point to the brave soul who stuck with a different car. That’s right, there’s bonus style points now. They’re completely arbitrary but don’t worry, it’s just for fun.

Full results and more on the event sheet.

PHLC#4 officially starts now. The main post will update in a moment with all the details. The category is Formula 70s, with a twist. The track is Watkins Glen Full.

There’s a consensus that the Renault is in a class of its own, and thus it is excluded from the main event. However, maybe some of you would still like to see how it compares, so you can submit times with it in addition to submitting times for the main event. This will also be a test for a potential new event format: side quests.

In other news, we’re all expecting Mount Panorama to come in the next update, and I can already tell you it’ll be the track choice whenever it drops, most likely with a selection of Australian cars, depending on what the update delivers.

A special event will run for the holidays, three weeks from Dec 19 to Jan 9. That should leave plenty of time for people to both participate and take some time off. Car class and track will be open to vote. The options for the track will be Mount Panorama (because it’s new) and Nordschleife (because it’s iconic), and maybe a third choice, or not. I’d like car selection to be as open as possible, though this would have the drawback of looking through a long (provided) list of car ordinals. This isn’t set in stone though, so if you have good ideas, or even ideas at all, you got a month to express yourself.

As a reminder, you all can also nominate a category of cars (division, single make, or other custom list) that may be used or put to a vote in a future event.

Alright, enough words. Let’s get racing!
