I have been out of the online lobby world for a few months and just got back into it and I’m getting reamed in the first lap 9 out of 10 races. It sucks because I usually have the pace to get a decent finish. And I’m so paranoid in the first lap that when I don’t get reamed I often crash out on my own. What’s the best way to avoid getting destroyed and not wrecking myself?

so my advice is to in your first race let every one past you and aim to set a clean lap. chance’s are this will put you at the front of the grid for the next race and if you get away nicely all the carnage will be in your mirrors. Also a quick look behind before entering the corner will allow you to see any idiots aiming to harpoon you into the barriers basically don’t drive like you have to gain place’s as fast as possible drive to overtake cleanly by doing this you give your self more time to react to players that want to cheat or are not very good at breaking
@muddy is correct bro, when starting at the back i let people pass depending on the track and try to make my way back up the field. just set clean laps, and you will have better grid positions. however trolls and dirty racers are sometimes cannot be avoided. just this morning im racing, Im in front of this dude and have the right and line to the corner, he lunges up my inside to where he basically on the rumble strip off the track, i then tell him in the nicest way possible about it he blames me stating i blocked his path, i didnt know i was just supposed to let people pass because they feel entiled. the first corner along with other things will always be an issue in forza online.
Yes do your best to avoid the opening wreck by being behind. I haven’t raced online in some time but I can remember quite a few races where I started at the front because I had the fastest clean lap (some guys had none), and they just crashed into me on the first corner and left me behind. Not very much fun.
