When you come close to them and you touch them they brake and slow you down from 200 to 70 in 1 sec in the damn Warthog.
When you try to get side to side with them , you BOUNCE OFF like you just hit a wall.
And of course AI is cheating again 1st and 2nd place unreal cornering and speed on unbeatable.

Minus the frustration in post, I gotta agree with your frustration. I think there is something about the sync/desync mechanics when in multiplayer that are causing the issue for collisions. Even outside of races. Crashes offline vs traffic and solo play races, they don’t do the jitterbugs.

But I do have to side with “unreal” performance feel.

The trouble is a disconnect between the vehicle and it’s performance visually. The visual is just a model, so the way their suspension rolls, and such is all stock physics running on a non simulated path/behavior.

The side reality of it is that on unbeatable, they don’t run as fast as a player. But they first have a head start clear of other AI and distruption, then the player having to keep up without an optimal tune or build. Sometimes this also means that on a multi surface, it now becomes impossible. Tuning for one means you are compromized elsewhere. As result, you need to run faster than the AI just to beat them. The shorter the race, the faster you run with the online AIs running simplified.

I think back to the track toys summer event here a bit ago. I was inside of the first place drivertar coming into a turn, and they just barrelled me right inside of the checkpoint as they turned in.
