But it doesn’t feel like that. The moment you know that there are people in the race that dont properly race and rather collect xp for the leaderboard, the victory for the actual race does not feel like a victory simply because the other one wasn’t trying his best. I mean do you feel like you’ve won a race where there are bunch of slow people that can’t keep with you and few other ones that drift around to collect xp for the leaderboard and you being the only one that races for victory? I don’t get any satisfaction from that. (it seemed like you didn’t understand this problem that nags us racers in the whole thread looking at your comments, at least the impression I get from you)
However, I do also understand you as well, because what JONK said is true. The XP leaderboard is much improved compared to FH2. The few times I raced in an Online adventure, it is possible to stay in lead at the XP leaderboard with clean racing. But again here people need to understand, that this means properly clean racing. If you don’t crash into any walls, the 2000 points that you get at some point is pretty hefty.
An example that happened to me in an Online adventure is, that someone else and I were properly racing against each other, I was leading by 6000 points. I messed up my 2nd race, flew out of the road, but managed to not crash into any tree or wall, meaning I was able to keep up my skill tree and making me keep my XP lead in the leaderboard at the end of the race (my lead didnt even shrink). In my last race though, I did a pretty bad mistake and crashed into a house. Did even more mistakes through the race and what happened? I lost the XP leaderboard, because I didnt manage to keep up the skill tree with “clean racing”.
I have to say though, that I don’t have any experience in these lobbys with people who can properly drift. Also to those people that say that HE cars make things worse isn’t kinda right, as the XP bonus would have the same increasing effect on clean racing as well. The only issue is, we can’t race every car if we want to win the XP leaderboard…
Nevertheless, the XP system is better than in FH2, but Playground games simply doesn’t understand that they don’t manage to satisfy us racers with this system…in Forza Horizon 3… a RACING game. Kinda ironic…isn’t it?
