You put the leagues starting tmw up - finally. Where are the rest of them for the next 4 weeks? This is very odd and has never happened before that when it changed it has not shown all 4 weeks. Leagues for the new series used to come out a week before the old season ended. Why is it now the day before the new seasons starts. We base our time attacks on some of these leagues so it is nice to know in advance.
The cutting in Pinnacle ghost league is becoming worse and worse and worse. I would say it is upwards of 60% of the players who participate. The stupid scoring system which you never modified one iota since day one which is pretty meaningless anyway, rewards cheating. I’m sure something can be done to improve this. It was said scoring would be looked at but I don’t really think it ever has been. I don’t know maybe the cutting penalty you already have but want to test forever. Its better than nothing at this point. I’m sure its bad elsewhere as well. I don’t bother with full contact leagues but this must be an issue in those too.
Track rotation or track selection has also not changed at all since the leagues started. When the same division comes around again its exactly the same rotation as the last time in the exact same order. Boring
Track rotations are often in alphabetical order for some unknown reason. Sometimes it gets randomized a few days later sometimes not. Why does this mistake a constant thing now?
It seems there is a lack of caring about leagues from Turn 10 which have full lobbies every single day with the same people every single day. This is not a unpopular area of the game yet it just seems mismanaged and forgotten. Others have made suggestions, It is just crickets about this.
There a some people and thank god not me who literally lag out of the lobby after every single race. Happening more and more as well. Sometimes literally half the lobby suddenly disappears.
That’s it, I’m sure this will get ignored like always and I just wasted another 10 min of my life. Thanks a lot Turn 10 for nothing done about any of this.
I post about this on behalf of a lot of people who I hear complaining about these things. I’m sorry they cannot be bothered to post but they expect me to post. The next Forza seems a long way away, Another year and a half or so of this with no change is not an appealing prospect
Thanks for saving me a lot of words. In addition, I’ve never been able to scroll thru all the posted tunes. I’ll see a dozen or so and just the yellow triangles. This week there are random buzzing sounds in lobby and on the track. Long frozen screens as the seconds between races tick off, sometimes not leaving enough time to change cars. Switching tunes I find impossible when an unable to homog notice pops up. When that happens I leave the lobby and then come back in and then it works. This game has been a perpetual effort at work arounds to get a decent gaming experience. I’m with you- I can’t wait forza eight to come out so that I can ignore it.
Well said Lee!
Just came out of the League lobby for Early Muscle and the corner cutting was absurd-so much so I just backed out and quit.
What is the point in trying to race clean or even race .
I understand that sometimes in order to avoid contact you have to leave track limits and I’m cool with that, I get it, but when folks are cutting to gain
position -not cool.
Do players not feel “dirty” when they get position this way , I will never understand, I guess my sense of “fair play” is misplaced in the modern world of Forza
As for points system–the current system is kinda pointless. (no pun intended)
There should be something to work towards , like a daily or session placing system.
Track rotation should be refreshed–at least once a month.
It is routine for me to get a disconnect at least once a session and often times I have to leave a lobby and re-enter as there seems to be some sort of bug that does not count
your races or points unless you exit and re-enter.
Regular multiplayer lobbies are even worse for disconnects and how bout trying to select a car… its like winning the bloody lottery if you get your car selected in time.
After more than a year of the game being out , one would think these fixes would be done or at least attempted .
Mechberg addressed Leagues during Forza Friday’s livestream at 1hr4:30 in this replay: Twitch
With the game nearly 2 years in release and the team shifting to the next Forza project, League content is now being repeated. This has been happening for a couple months now, repeating full seasons from last summer, where “Speed Shakedown” was a repeat of “Rush the Podium” last July. Sequentially, the new Leagues season would repeat “Hard Charging” from last August and the following season will repeat Wheels of Fire. If I don’t have those events listed in the forums you could look at my Events sheet at www.bit.ly/FM7spreadsheets for the history as a guide to what’s coming up (if sequential repeats continue). I would assume the track rotations continue to be as they have been. Rewards so far have also been repeats of the rerun leagues.
He also mentioned that the team is currently trying to transition the Leagues menu updates from manual input to an automated system, and that some strangeness may come up in the menus during this process. I don’t know if this will include putting upcoming Leagues in the menu as they were before.
As for lagging or other unusual game behavior it would probably be a good idea for players to report these instances via ticket at Support so that the team is aware of any issues they may need to address for the next project.
I agree with the corner cutting and poor behaviour from some “pinnacle” drivers. However leagues is still better than normal public hoppers and has huge potential to improve with FRR. I Hope turn10 implement FRR into leagues soon. Some suggestions to improve leagues;
When FRR is combined with a ranking system like Leagues, players that cut corners, etc will be finishing last, therefore will be demoted into the lower ranks. Points weighting will shifted to reward those that can be fast AND clean. You’ll be grouped with players of similar ability and temperament, and that is key to good multiplayer racing.
More choice in leagues, expand to include more hoppers; personally I’d like an endurance hopper with rotation of Forza GT, Modern Endurance, Early Prototypes, GT Reborn, Indycar, Nascar, etc……
Longer races in general, I dislike the sprint race format where everybody wants to bomb into the first corner, try to overtake whole field in lap one, never wait for a clean passing opportunity, every lap is basically Q3. Longer races will reward more measured and consistent approach, particularly when drivers are closely matched on skill.
Point system is a mystery, it seems to be a very complex formula consisting of an invisible driver rating, finishing position, starting position, no of players, how regularly you play…. would be good if simplified and weighting was more upfront, something like;
a. Each player pays “race fee” of 100 points, to be re-distributed based on finishing position only (after penalties). Ranks and leagues still based on accumulation of points with increasing rewards;
i. Eg. 3 players x 100 equals 300 points in pool. Distributed in a 3/2/1 pattern (50%/33.3%/16.7% ratio), so 1st gets 150(-100) = 50 points, 2nd gets 100(– 100)= 0 (breaks even), and 3rd gets 50(-100) = -50 (last, so lost points)… 4 players would be 4/3/2/1 (60, 20, -20,-60 points)…. and so on.
You guys have nailed it on everything that we deal with in leagues. It really rubs me the wrong way when you work hard to have a clean race just to be beaten by a corner cutting fool. Idk what kinda person does this and feels good about themselves but it’s not this guy. Lol anyway thanks for posting.
The league section should honestly just be changed to custom public lobbies. There are plenty of online associations (TORA, ORL, DOR, etc.) who would be able to create and host leagues easily this way. Automated leagues as they are now are not much different from the basic hoppers.
My beef is that they feature the same bad tracks all the time, as if willing torture intentionally! Let’s have all of the tracks featured in the game rotated through leagues - all of them, not just the tortuous short and reverse versions. Also they had better keep the FRR away from leagues – it will simply not be welcome in this venue.
Why would you not want FRR in leagues? it will separate the clean racers from the dirty ones and that’s a good thing. There are too many dirty racers in Pinnacle ATM because the points system rewards their finishing position even if achieved by cheating… With FRR the worst offenders will finish last and before long demoted out of pinnacle to lower leagues where they belong.
