Nurburgring Rivals issue

So I bought a Renault Clio Williams and tuned it to B class because it’s such a beast and handles like a Go-Kart, I put it round the Nurburgring in Rivals. obviously my out lap would be slow and came in at 8:24 or something. I carried on and set a flying lap at 8:19 and was 100% sure it was clean. I quit the race then and looked at the leader board to see it had only registered my first out lap. Why is that? 8:19 then would have been a good contender and put me way up in the top 10% at least! Can anyone help me understand what’s gone on here please?

Thanks for reading, any help is appreciated.

The only way to tell would be to watch the replay. Or while you’re running it keep an eye on the HUD for the warning triangle.
It can be anything from scraping a wall, to over stepping the kerbs. It doesn’t have to be much on some corners.

Without a replay, I can only speculate that your out lap wasn’t clean in the last section, which would mean your entire second lap would be dirty.

Thanks for the replies chaps, but I know the second lap was clean. I’ve played forza Motorsport since the very first game and understand the ways the laps can be made ‘dirty’. Not to worry, not the end of the world, I’ll just continue to play.

I’ve been noticing that a lot of my laps it takes yet another clean lap to clear the 1st dirty lap. When I first start one if I get a dirty turn in the first part of the track I’ll reset the race rather than run that one and another to clear it.

Seems that it should reset for the second lap but it doesnt. I don’t know if its a penalty or a bug but it should be reset per lap.

if you rewind on your clean lap it will dirty the time. also if you make a mistake and dirty a lap on the last sector of the previous lap it can dirty the next lap you are about to start. So always check you’re running clean when you cross the line. its caught me out a few times.

Something not mentioned is that the Clio isnt exactly the best choice for doing hot laps on the Nurb. I’ve found it more suited for shorter tracks. Try the BMW 1M or something like that. I have at least 3 B class muscle car tunes posted for this track

Putting a wheel in the wrong place in the heat of the moment is easily done at the Nordschliefe. It’s so narrow you only have to slide a few inches and you’re off the track.
