Does anyone have strategy suggestions for this event?
It’s 8 laps around the Nurburgring full circuit in the “#2 Castrol Honda Civic WTCC” car. That’s not an issue, but the goal it to finish in 3rd or higher.
The problem is that three of the NPC cars ar significantly faster than the Honda (In my runs, a McLaren, a Porsche and a Lambo).
I’ve only tried it a few times and did manage a good start once and blocked those three for one lap, but once we got back to the GP circuit portion of the track the blew by never to be seen again.
It seems like this one is really poorly tuned or something. I don’t see any way to beat this other than turning up damage and getting lucky wrecking at least one of them, or possibly turning the difficulty way down. I don’t see anyone blocking those three for 125 miles.
You need to be a little more observant. When those cars passed you, you would have remained in first place. In this particular ‘endurance’ race (pretty short one) half of the racers are in a class above you so do not count. There’s 12 R class (above you) and 12 S class. By the end of the race, realistically ‘15th’ will do but it’s not 15th, it will be displayed in the top left corner as 3rd because there will only be 2 S class racers in front of you (13th & 14th place)…
More than 3 acually, it’s a race with more than one class of cars. You will be racing against the BTCC cars. Not the GT3 class.
The trick is to be smooth and use places on track to let them pass. Example… The carousel, with the GT3 cars stacked behind you, take the flat run around and allow the faster cars to pass. It"s a fun race and the only one I"ve seen that the Retardatars actually race cleanly…Charles
Ah, thanks guys, I tried a couple more times and didn’t notice that but did manage to stay in first overall for 1.5 laps. Only beating the others in my class will be trivial.
As other people have said you are racing the BTCC cars not the GT3 cars but depending what difficulty you are playing on you can still toy with the GT3 cars in the corners, well atleast that’s what I did while playing on Pro drivertars.
I just recently did this event on (edit) Expert but I would suggest doing it at a higher difficulty. The GT3 cars would pile behind me, I would let them by, then they would slow down and I would catch up with them again. Very odd.
