Nurbergring advice on builds

im looking for advice for the build on cars for the ring i been going grip tune as its technical course really but in rivals im beating everyone until the straights and loose a lot of ground…however most rivals i came across upto yet are dirty laps due to more power less grip so im looking to build a balanced car,my question is mainly do i sacrifice areo for extra speed or stick with areo and loose sticky tires, weight reduction etc, i dont want to down load anyone elses tunes as im in top 1% virtually every where apart from the damm ring currently sitting at 5% in s class with my own tunes. thanks

Grip, grip, and more grip. Otherwise you will be very familiar with the ARMCO.

thanks thats what i went for initially but can only pull 190 down the main straight in a f50 and clk gtr my rivals went of the mini map at that point so im a good 10 seconds behind on that straight alone thats why i was thinking sacrificing some grip if i remember correctly both stats are 6.2 for handling on both cars, perhaps they better for lobbies than rivals thats why i was questioning the build for rivals, i avoided the ring on previous forzas thats why im seeking advice, ill look see if you have a ring tune that i could rebuild to my driving style

I haven’t ran this version myself (stupid power block died last week) but I would start off with your best Spa tune, and then add speed or grip after some runs.

I would test 3 builds.

Your current build.

No aero but with as much of the same build as above as possible.

Less tyres but with aero and extra hp.

With the F50 you should be able to get away with lesser compound tyres than your grip build. I have experimented with downloaded tunes and my own and all I can say is there are some master tuners out there that can get this thing to grip with lower compound tyres. I could never nail the tune once I back off the tyres but its definitely possible.

My prediction is that the quicker builds at Nordschleife will be lesser tyres and more power, with aero but probably with the aero backed off or at minimum.

I have not tested this yet though.

With the amount of corners that are on a crest or just after them, I think aero is more important than tire compound for this track. Sure, line choice will also change depending on aero or not as well…

In A class I hover around the top 100, but havent set up a car specifically for the track, my all-around builds run well on the track, and have enough cornering speed to not lose time on most of the track which are corners, and enough straight line speed to keep up on the straights.

The F50 may need to be trimmed out a little, with sport tires or even street, and just work the setup to give you good speed and consistency through the corners. I personally like a car that enters the corners stronger rather than comes off of them stronger on this track, since the majority of corners are decelerating corners.

The build should be focused on mid/high speed cornering as well as top speed. Downforce retards the top speed significantly so any use of it should be minimal.

High grip tires are useless on long straights so the right combination is the tire compound that you feel comfortable with. On slower cars, stock tires may be fine. On faster cars, it has to be trial & error. Good thing there’s only 4 sets of tires to test (stock, street, sport, & race).

Weight reduction is helpful but not a high priority. There are not many heavy braking points nor hairpins on this track.

HP and maintaining the momentum is of higher priority.

I would assess NBRing build priority as: POWER - GRIP - WEIGHT

thanks for the response guys i built an a class r34 rwd v8 skyline earlier it got me a 7.18 xxx dirty earlier on nordshleife which would have got me in top 300, still struggling for top speed on straight but i was using full aero ill retry tune again tomorrow, then if im better ill move back to the s class cars
