I’m after a couple of hours with Forza 5 and not even one clip was recorded by the game. Does the game support auto Game DVR feature at all or I have to use “Xbox record that” command and manual Game DVR?
Auto DVR? To my knowledge, Xbox One DVR commands are applicable to all games and must be utilized to access recording features.
At least it records every +7,000 point drift sequence you execute

Do you mean those auto generated clips?
Like the ones created for levelling up in Battlefield, or the ones created in Madden every time a touchdown is scored.
I’m really pleased Forza doesn’t do that. I was chatting in a lobby last night, and everyone seemed to agree that if we see that someone has uploaded a clip from one of these games, nobody watches it. Whereas if we see a clip from Forza we know someone actually chose to upload it, so we watch it.
Oh i dont know, i like the fact it autosaves my numerous dogtag paybacks for camping snipers. Never get tired of watching those.
Duff it records every single save you make in FIFA. Someone can attempt a 50 yarder and it will record the save of your goalkeeper not moving and catching the ball.
Exactly, red5star. I’m just curious - Dead Rising 3 and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood snaped some gameplay clips on their own, Forza 5 doesen’t do that. Looks like it’s the way Turn 10 wanted to be.
I agree that it would be nice to have at least some clips recorded, but what would you want it to be ?
If you record every perfect pass or perfect corner your going to end up with thousands of videos that no one really cares about.
Perhaps the last lap of any 1st position win ?
What would be better is much more editing tools within the forza replay area. If they integrated this with the DVR then we could record, edit and upload our own videos.
You can do it with The DVR pinned but it’s not very convenient.
Thank everything it doesn’t. It’s the most annoying thing on earth trying to find what you recorded on FIFA or Battlefield among 100 clips.
It recorded a “head over heels” clip during multiplayer for me once. That’s all I’ve seen.

i disabled that, on drifting way after every " perfect drift " it recorded all the times!!
I end up uploading around 30-50 clips PER NIGHT!
I wish it would record less drifts and more racing though, like maybe a trigger for if you pass on the last lap of a race or something.
Some of these auto-record cues sound neat; although, in trying to think of a way for it to be implemented, few instances come to mind.
Forza would greatly benefit from being able to use smartglass to control the DVR.
I know I would use it a lot more… instead I am buying an ELGATO, to do pretty much what I thought the Xbox One was going to do.
Of course every game can do that now, but that’s not why I’m here.
My Forza 5 did an automatic recording of me rolling my car near the end of the big straight at Bathurst.
Smartglass on the iPad, once connected to your console, has a red ever-present button bottom-middle of the screen which you can tap to do an “Xbox record that” type command which grabs the last 30s of DVR video. I’ve been using this since they updated the app and it works fine to record quick snippets of game-play. Just need to remember to open the app and leave it within reach when racing.
On the newest firmware of the One, recording is even more easy than using Kinect Voice. Double-tap Home-button > Press X → clip recorded
FM5 has auto-recorded a couple of clips for me. Now that I think about it they were both horrendous crashes.
