New To FH3 can someone explain me *drop catching*?

Hi Guys,
im really love the drag races, and i have tuned 2 cars with which i can go between 19.4 to 19.6 secs.

but i have seen clips and read a lot that you can be faster if you do drop catching. But what is that exactly?

Thx for answering.

It’s a start technique. You hold the car at a fixed throttle setting prior to launch and as the race starts. This will be something less than full throttle, but you could still be at redline, depending on the car.

When the race starts first gear will engage, and while holding the same throttle setting, rpms will drop. When the rpms drop to the catch point, you apply full throttle. Done correctly, you will get a launch with less wheelspin.

Unless someone shared their build & tune along with initial and catch rpm, you have to figure all this out for each car.

Thanks for explaining that.

Could you explain something else for me?

I purchased the Lamborghini Urus car, but I notice something very strange is happening when I try to start from a complete stop - either free driving or at the start of a race. When I press the accelerator (I’m playing on a G29 wheel setup), the RPM needle only goes up a tiny bit before dropping back down to 0, repeatedly, and I end up rolling along at 2-4 mph. It doesn’t matter if I press the accelerator gently or to the floor, the engine keeps lugging with the RPM needle starting to climb and then dropping back down to 0 repeatedly. The only ways I’ve found to actually start going is by either pumping the gas pedal - where it will work after a few pumps - or by pushing in the clutch pedal, revving the engine, and then dumping the clutch.

I have the game set for manual shifting + clutch, but I haven’t noticed this issue on the BMW M4, the Chevy Charger, the Nissan GTR, or the buggy you race at the beginning of the game.

Is this a bug, am I doing something wrong?

I’ve noticed that on a few vehicles. At first I was pissed until I realized MY mistake. Some vehicles act like real life… releasing the clutch and applying the throttle has to be perfect or else it bogs.
