Hopefully they’ll start to expand on this feature down the road……probably not knowing them but you never know. Direct access to rivals and then returning to the test track after finishing would be nice.
I was hoping that the Test Track would be a new track with timed laptimes similar to how it’s done in FM. Perhaps a track built by the devs in a special Event Lab or new environment like the 2 expansions?
It does desperately need a laptime counter though!
The fact that the whole map is accessible without traffic and obstacles is kind of nice though. You can blast through everything to properly test the top speed of a car now
When the devs give bare minimum so will i. Keep your badges ill grab the accolades and call it day.
It has potential, they could have left the PR stunts up maybe not allow the scores to stay but still allow us to use them while testing the cars.
It lags to much
Why i cant switch cars and stay in the test track i dont understand that
Like the rest of the game it needs work
Edit: maybe have separate test track modes one for racing one for drifting one for drag racing
I went to this thing today. What test track? There is NO definitive track. There is a collection of misplaced signs and miss directing cones. If you look on the map, all tracks show the track lay out. Not this one. If you follow the blue placards you end up driving through cone blocked roads! If you travel offroad with the orange placards the upgrade car tag disappears indicating you’ve obviously traveled out of bounds of the test track. There are numerous areas also where this occurs.
It is not a test track, it is an ill conceived mishmash of placards and cones with no definitive reason or rhyme and no logical thought put into the actual concept of “Test Track”
It is a big fail. No, it is a BIG FAIL! Absolutely a pointless addition to the game.
The problem is they billed it as something it wasnt. Its not a test tract anymore than it was for the story purpose it was made for. Its just that you’re able to access it outside of that story. Thats it.
I choose a car to tune S1 - go to the test track - can not choose that car (current) & get a list of other cars (which I don’t want to tune) - then can’t simply back out but got to choose one of the cars shown in class S1 to be able to proceed (don’t want to miss the car set up with the mechanic)
Is the purpose of this that you buy new cars to be able to choose your current car? It seems so complicated & long made (time-consuming)
- inputs are like slow motion
iirc… once you’re in X to start Test Drive it pops up a menu selection of cars that you can scroll through to get to any car, including “current car” although that is rarely what should be the default starting point. If you tried scrolling or it’s not there then I’m not sure. Or I’ve misunderstood the issue.
No, it is just not there sometimes. So far, I have seen it with a couple of cars but also where that option is not there.
Well, that’s a fun “feature”…
First I would like to say thank you to the developers for giving us a test track. I am sure a lot of hard work went into it.
However, I must admit that I am baffled by the concept of a test track that does not have a means to track any kind of performance statistics. In my mind a minimum of lap times is needed to test the results of changes to the tuning setups. Hopefully this feature can be refined in coming weeks into more of what players had in mind.
I agree with the points made here. Why bother if its not a test track that actually can be used for testing and comparing?
Is anyone else having an issue where every time you add an upgrade to your car while at the test track the game hangs for about a second?
This was during the ‘Mid Car’ upgrading in the Low Car story.
As I recall this same issue existed when the test track had first been introduced with the original Donut Media update back in Series 14.
Edit: I also had a problem where all of the NPC dialogue here ran back to back without pause. I hadn’t even entered the upgrade menu when the Donutfolk were declaring my car was already painted and ready to go!
The best test track we have now is the drag strip because it has a speed trap that records your speed. But you’re only be able to tune acceleration. It’s something.
I have a lot of lagging in there as if my PC is an old potato, but I’m on Series X
Side note: did they forget to add some Achievements?
Yes, I experienced the exact same things.
Ok, dumb question about that final chapter: So I built and tuned my car. How do I finish and move on? I feel like I looked everywhere but I couldn’t find anything to finalize my build and move on. Eventually I had to exit the event.
I too got the pauses and the dialogue bug. Annoying but considering I don’t really care that much about the feature in the first place it’s kind of a shoulder shrug issue for me.
After you finish, take a right corner, it’s like a very short drive …
Have you crossed off all the exclamation marks?
Not sure if relevant, but from what i’ve seen you can only select cars that are either untuned or have your own tune on them.Any car in your garage that has a downloaded tune on is inaccessable for the test track
I noticed that we can change car paint in Test Track during the last part of Donut media story by Pressing Y on the controller.
Tis feature is not available outside of the story.
