Hi all,
For all us tuners out there, this new feature should have been the ideal place for testing….but the ultimate oversight seems to have ruined the fun.
The tuning menu is completely locked out while in the test track area. I’m sure this was a mistake?
Anyways, I appreciate playgrounds effort into providing a feature for testing but the tuning menu should have been obvious, IMO.
Edit: tune menu is accessed by pressing “x” in the upgrades menu.

I’m praying that it’s just a mistake.
It is a mistake by the OP. Fortunately !!!
You get into the tuning menu by pressing X in the upgrade menu.
You cannot go directly to the tuning menu like in free roam - always via the upgrades screen.

When you leave the test track, you can buy all the upgrades and your tune will stay on your car. However, I cannot find a way to save the tune from within the test track. You have to do that later in free roam…

Not a fan at all, it’s just the same festival space + a few props with the ability to install upgrades quicker than going back to your home.
If you want to test you’re still much better off going in Rivals, you’re not going to get any feedback or information from running a car on this.
Calling this feature a “test track” is a total exaggeration. There are no lap times, no sector times, no objective way to tell whether you are faster or not…
There is not even a defined track. It looks like there are no borders and the whole map seems to be accessible.

Yup, I see that now. Thanks.
Yeah, I’ll still be doing rivals. Would be nice to access the rivals menu within the rest track.
Didn’t even realise until just now there’s accolades tied to it as well.
50 miles driven + spend 500k on upgrades while in the test track being the 2 longest.
Edit: And also a few badges including this absolute banger…
Spend 10 million on upgrades at the test track
I also think a certain @SpirantCrayon22 will enjoy seeing 3 of the rewards for the accolades.

I shall have a look when I open it in a while - thanks for the heads-up!
Well, at least there’s something to do with some fraction of the hundreds of millions we all have
BADGES ! lol
One thing I have noticed on series X is the bad micro freezing when adding a part in the menu. Feels like my game is about to feeeze/crash with every upgrade. Anyone else?

Same on Series S.
Same old FH though, there’s more chance of us getting Alfa Romeo by the end of this week than the menus ever being quick and smooth.

LOL!
Yeah, completely agree with that statement my friend.
One other thing I noticed in the upgrade menu is that you can’t rev the engine. Minor issue for me but it’s nice to hear the exhaust note with the associated upgrade.

Alright. So this feature was implemented about how I figured it would be. Its treated more as an event than a utility or feature. But theres no score keeping, theres no timing, no sectors. Theres props set up on the track for different disciplines but whats the point if you dont know how much better you might be doing? The upgrade suite is available at any time during this. And the entire game is open. Not a closed in test track.
So the obvious question arises. Why not just add access to the car upgrades in the start menu like they did with Tuning???
Its the same difference, Could even lock you into a private empty world just like the test track currently does. Just accessible anywhere. This feature seems completely useless as a utility because its not faster than going into the garage button prompt wise. In fact, its a bit slower. And you’re really not going to get any useful info for driving around with parts on when theres no timing or stats on the track itself. The only conceivable use I can imagine for this is that it saves money maybe sometimes?
Would love to hear what other people think. Why is this more useful than just having the upgrades menu available in the start menu? Is it just for the social aspect? Are people that broke?

Well I was going to post that here but it seemed off topic as this thread was about a technical issue. But okay.
Is it about the RP of tuning and upgrading?
Is that why I dont get it?
I got all 5 new badges, it was very tiring.

I have mapped a plan for the 50 upgraded cars but what a grind it looks like. Kudos on rushing it
